How Incompetent is our Government in Washington? I give you DST

Let me give you a simple but accurate example of how incompetent your government has become. Most of our nation’s people, about 80 percent, want to end the useless process of changing our clocks twice a year. Daylight Savings Time serves no purpose, is annoying, and even dangerous in several situations. For more than 40 years our nation’s people have expressed their support for ending this ludicrous process, and for more than 40 years our government has ignored us. Our government no longer serves our needs and wishes, it works for itself and the super-rich. 

Sleep deprivation, a sudden change in the level of the sun, these are just two of the situations created by a sudden change of time. If there was a single reason why this process should continue, I have not read anything which is realistic. 

Once again, this situation can be explained by three words, “follow the money.” States which rely on tourism, such as Florida are opposed to common sense. More daylight in the latter part of the day produces a greater cash flow. Once again, “profit before people” is our nation’s motto.  

I remind you of a single fact: your vote is the only weapon you have to defeat a corrupt and incompetent government. In 2023 congress was only able to pass 34 bills. Throughout our nation’s history, an average of 200-600 bills are passed each year. 2023 is typical for Moscow Mitch McConnell’s “party of no.” 

In 2024 the government of the United States of America has proven itself to be the most corrupt and ineffective in the entire world. The problem primarily rests on the useless House of Representatives whose right-wing extremist members are loyal to Trump and not to their country. The truth is that the party of no has done nothing since 2009. Their focus has been on winning elections and gaining power over the American people. 

Vote the bums out: it’s time for real change.
