Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart It’s a sad fact that I was not surprised that Trump chose Pete Hegseth to be Secretary of Defense. They are very similar. Both are white supremacists, sexual predators, and confirmed criminals. Hegseth is also a well-known alcoholic whose antics embarrassed everyone he knew. It was also important for Trump that Hegseth was a part-time personality on his personal propaganda machine, Fox News. Trump and Hegseth made a decision to attack a group of Democrats who offered advice to our military who are being forced to act like a Gestapo in our nation’s “blue” states. They made a public service announcement informing our men and women in uniform that if what they are ordered to do is a violation of federal law or the Constitution, they are not required to carry out those orders.
