“It’s the Economy, Stupid”

Image
Political writers claim the results of the 2024 election were based on one single promise made by a pathological liar. Trump said: “I will end inflation on day one.” Personally, I do not agree with the reasons offered by others for Trump’s questionable victory on November 5, 2024. However, I may be wrong and what was in reality “Greedflation” continues to grow today. Not once has Trump mentioned a single effort on his part to address the issue. The fact is that his ill-advised tariffs will be in effect today and the prices of necessities will rise even higher. In 1992, Democratic political strategist, James Carville, spoke to the press about the coming election. For 12 years Republican presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush destroyed our nation’s economy, adding trillions of dollars to the national debt. They shared the same belief in “trickle-down economics:” give money to the rich and they will increase employment and therefore grow the economy. They were terribly wrong. When ...

Six Million Dollars Wasted Every Month

Image
Over the last 29 days Musk and his staff composed of babies in training pants have destroyed agencies necessary to maintain America’s place in the world under the lie; “eliminating government waste.” Let’s go back eight years. When Trump was your illegitimate president between 2017 and 2021, Trump wasted at least six million dollars every month on personal expenses. Trump traveled to and from Mar-a-Lago nearly every week. He held hate rallies about once every month, he played golf at his millionaires resorts at least once every week. Among other costs, operating Air Force One costs more than $200,000 per hour. Musk’s fictitious DOGE is making no effort to curtail Trump’s life of opulence and waste at taxpayer expense. The fact is, Musk is a huge part of the problem. In my experience, I find most billionaires to be ignorant. Their only concern is how to increase their already outrageous wealth. Greed limits a man’s ability to think clearly. Trump’s entire existence is one big con. Unfor...

Biggest Promise Made, Biggest Promise Broken

Image
“I will lower inflation on day one.” Donald John Trump. Another big lie. Trump admitted that he doesn’t know how to lower inflation. In fact, after day one he never mentioned the subject. His time was well-spent, signing unconstitutional executive orders and playing with Musk and his other laughing oligarchs. His focus was on more important issues, including renaming the Gulf of Mexico, stealing Greenland, turning Gaza into a “Middle East Mar-a-Lago,” and making Canada our 51 st state. I have questions and concerns about the validity of the 2024 election. Regardless, exit polls revealed that Trump’s controversial victory was the result of a single issue: inflation. Inflation has actually risen by three percent over the last few weeks. The effects of Trump’s foolhardy tariffs will result in additional costs to consumers in the near future. The facts prove that over his 78 and ½ years, he is a failure when economics are involved. Trump was forced to file bankruptcy on two Atlantic City ...

Today, February 1, 2025, Trump Gave Two Middle Fingers to Everyone Who Voted for Him in November

Image
Exit polls on November 5, 2024, offered information that the primary reason Trump apparently won the election was based on a promise to end inflation. Another BIG lie. On this day, February 1, 2025, inflation, or more accurately “Greedflation,” continues to be a problem for most Americans. In a move which is guaranteed to add additional cost to the purchase of necessities and the pain which will accompany the stress of finding money to pay for food, Trump literally raised both middle fingers to the men and women who voted for him. Today, he placed a 25 percent tariff on imports from Canada, Mexico, and China. This will add an increase of 25-50 percent to our grocery and gas bills, just to name two serious problems we will all struggle with.. Have no illusion about what Trump is doing this evening: he is laughing at everyone who voted for him. Once again, he lied and used his talents as a lifetime con man to make fools out of millions of Americans. Trump never intended to make any attem...

What You Will Never Hear from Any News Network: The Truth About Our Nation’s Economy

Image
To understand our nation’s up and down economy, we must look at the fiscal policies of every president since 1981. It was 43 years ago when Ronald Reagan became our country’s 40 th president. He revealed his fiscal policy which he called “supply side economics.” This misleading term led to a more accurate description known as “trickle-down economics.” Reagan originated the Republican Party’s current policy of focusing on the success of the super-rich. He claimed that if their huge corporations were profitable, in turn they would create jobs and the foundation of a capitalistic society, consumerism, would grow exponentially. Of course his policy failed miserably. Billionaires care about no one and nothing else other than increasing their already ludicrous personal wealth. When Reagan left office in 1989, unemployment was at 10 percent and rising, and the national debt reached an unfathomable one-trillion dollars. His successor, Republican George H.W. Bush continued Reagan’s policy of g...

Writers Must Write

TheWiseOldFart Writers Must Write My heart was broken. The election of Donald Trump for the second time was not only a huge mistake, but a dark day for our nation’s future. Hours after the results were reported, the writer in me put the pieces together. I realized that something I learned more than a dozen years ago, when I began writing for a newspaper. At least 90 percent of all Americans are uninformed and therefore ignorant. Most of our nation’s people are lazy and, like Trump, “learn everything they need to know on television.” Which means they know nothing. This is why I ceased writing my blog, “TheWiseOldFart.” However, this became a problem for me. I am a writer, and writers must write. Whether it is my blog or my novels, I have a ...
