My wife and I were watching television when the broadcast was interrupted. The date was January 6, 2021. It was just about noon. On the screen was an old, obese, white man who was soon to be evicted from the White House. He was standing on a newly erected stage just outside the White House. He began his lies with the biggest lie he ever told. He claimed that massive fraud prevented him from winning his reelection in 2020. The truth was clear and irrefutable. After more than 60 state’s courts denied his appeals, unable to find a shred of evidence, and after the Supreme Court, which had been stacked by Trump and fellow conspirator, Moscow Mitch McConnell, rejected his final appeal, he refused to accept his massive defeat. Congress was in session, preparing to certify the Electoral College vote and confirming Joe Biden’s presidency. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart I have no doubt that the brass in the Pentagon is pleased and proud that the government of the United States spends five-times more money on its military budget than all other nations combined. But why does our government continue to raise the Pentagon’s annual budget when it wastes 50 cents of every dollar they receive? (The latter according to several “watchdog groups.”) We are a nation which is constantly preparing for the next war. However, there are no plans for permanent peace. It is undeniable that if a third World War begins, it will end with the complete destruction of our planet. So, why does our military continue to pay for the manufacture of machines to fight ground wars? Not a single “conventional war” has been fought since WWII. Our worthless and corrupt government refuses to take any action against the NRA gun lobby, because campaign donations are more important to them than human life.   This is one major issue which could be solved in a few days, but profits for gun manuf acturers and gun sellers take priority over the safety of the American people.    This week all d oubt was removed about which lobby owns the legislative and judicial branches of our government. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart I am so f**king tired of writing about domestic terrorism. I am even more disgusted and angry with our government. This threat to the American people can be stopped immediately, but too many of our elected officials are owned by the NRA gun lobby. Once again, profit comes before people. Today, in Chester, Pennsylvania, a disgruntled employee walked into his former place of employment at 8:30 a.m. and shot five people: two of them are in the morgue. His weapon of choice: a semi-automatic handgun. The perp was arrested as he attempted to flee the scene of the massacre. THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IS THE MOST DANGEROUS COUNTRY IN THE WORLD The above is not an exaggeration.
