Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart   I claim that the once Grand Old Party began its demise in 1981 and imploded once and for all on January 20, 2017. I will also tell you that the last Republican president was Richard Nixon. Reagan, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump lacked the principles and morals of the Party of Lincoln. Although George H.W. Bush was a respectable Republican, he adopted the same failed fiscal policy established by Reagan, abandoning his former beliefs.   I will use two examples which validate my claim.    What Real Republicans Supported in the 1970’s   Nixon will forever be remembered for “Watergate.” This is sad because he was the most accomplished president in the latter half of the 20 th century. Bush, and Donald Trump all implemented the most failed economic policy in history. “Trickle Down Economics,” the policy which Reagan called “Supply Side Economics,” was created by your failed 40 th president, claiming that if the rich have more money, they will create good paying jobs for the American people. This was the biggest pile of bullshit in American history. The super-rich simply placed their additional profits in offshore accounts, or in the purchase of additional mansions or islands.    When Reagan left office in 1989, his failures left our nation in debt for more than a trillion dollars. Recently, he admitted that my allegation is indeed fact. The proof actually began on January 20, 2017, and was completed on January 6, 2021 when he ordered his Neo-Nazi army to halt the certification of the Electoral College vote.   Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart   There is no longer a “Republican Party.” Those who call themselves “Republicans” today are without leadership, morals, or principles. Speaker McCarthy is a joke. He is loyal to Trump, not to his country, and is a huge embarrassment to the title of Speaker of the House. The “old man of the Senate, Moscow Mitch McConnell, has never accomplished anything for his country. His goal has always been “party first” throughout his seven, six-year terms in office.
