The people of Delaware made history when they chose the first transgender woman to support them in the House of Representatives.S However, right-wing extremist and homophobe, Nancy Mace, from South Carolina, has introduced a bill which would prevent Ms. McBride from using the women’s restrooms in the Capitol Building. Once again, Trump’s “people” prove that my America no longer exists. Our nation has never been a great nation and likely never will be. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart     It was called “The $64,000 Question.” In 1950’s America, this was a primetime event. The possibility of win nin g that much money by winning a contest was phenomenal. However, when it was r e vealed that one contestant had been given the answers prior to the broadcast, it was over.   This is far from my regular story. However, I promise that ‘the truth lives here,’ and I feel required to expose another issue where corporate profits are considered more important than the truth.   For several years my wife and I had a morning routine. We watched “CBS This Morning,” which was followed by “Let’s Make a Deal.” The latter is a game show which continues today.   Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart   My wife and I refuse to fly on any commercial airline. The last time we flew together was in 1998. We traveled to Florida to celebrate our daughter’s 21 st birthday. On the way home we stopped in Denver to visit my brother. This experience, a combination of very bad weather, and the complete lack of customer service, combined with blatant lies from employees of United Airlines, was painful and unforgivable. We vowed never to fly on a commercial airline again. I wrote a letter to United’s vice-president of customer relations, explaining that I had been an employee of an airline between 1967 and 1976 and informed them that I would never again fly on their airline. I received a return letter containing an apology and two $100 vouchers for future air travel.
