Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart I must admit something to all of you. I have been honest when I talk about Trump, his party, and his supporters. There is no question that their policies and plans include the end of democracy, and replacing freedom with a fascist regime. Take a good look at Trump’s Project 2025. However, what I failed to recognize is the existence of reincarnated Nazis pretending to be Republicans is already happening. This is no longer a movement to create a fascist regime, it has been here for the last seven years and gaining power and support from the wealthiest people in our country. I don’t know why I failed to realize what I was seeing was reality, and not a “could be.” Right-wing politicians don’t just support Trump, they literally bow to him the same way Hitler’s inner circle deferred to his every demand. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart This week I watched film from June 6, 1944, known as “D-Day.” This day marked the beginning of the end of WWII. As I watched these old, black and white films, I couldn’t help but wonder who was going to die in the war to remove fascism from the free world. I know that if Trump watched any of the broadcasts, he called them all “suckers and losers.” This was not the first time. In 2018, while in Paris to honor our fallen WWI soldiers at a cemetery outside of the City of Lights, he refused to attend the event, and was overheard calling them “suckers and losers.” I would expect nothing less from a man who read Hitler’s speeches before he went to sleep each night, and was himself a draft dodger.    Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart No one must allow themselves to forget the feelings we had before the 2020 election. The turnout was historical. The reasons for that turnout saved our country. I cannot deny that for myself and millions of others, a vote for Mr. Biden was a vote against the fascist and destructive agenda of Donald John Trump. Our nation was moving 180 degrees in the wrong direction. While the rest of developed nations were moving forward in social and economic issues, America was retreating into its dark past, eliminating the advances made over the last 60+ years.
