How can we prove that the House of Representatives is dysfunctional? The Freedom Caucus is in control. In January of 2015, a small group of right-wing extremists calling themselves the Freedom Caucus took control of the House of Representatives. There are 435 members in the House, and right-wing extremists control the majority and have since January 3, 2022. Although the misnamed Freedom Caucus only has about 42 members, they are so extreme in support of their fascist leader, Donald Trump, cowardly moderate Republicans surrender to the demands of the few in a sad display of misguided loyalty. You know some of their names: Mike Johnson, Jim Jordan, Steve Scalise, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Paul Gosar, and until recently, Matt Gaetz. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart   It is virtually a fact that the primaries in 2024 are worthless. President Biden said he is running because Trump will be the Republican nominee. The only reason Trump is running is to avoid spending the remainder of his worthless life in prison.   The primaries have proven one thing, most Americans are not happy with the choices offered them in 2024, and I cannot criticize them for their displeasure.   However, the differences between the two old, white men are significant and obvious.   President Biden loves his country and his accomplishments for all Americans are impressive to say the least. He continues his attempts to unify our country and move our n ation forward into the 21 st cent ury. Our economy is growing faster than at any time since 2000. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart   I woke up this morning, booted up my laptop, and began to scan the headlines, as usual. I looked for information I did not know, or fully understand. I found nothing to write about on this Thursday morning. I have read or written these same stories multiple times. The names have changed, but the crimes against our country and humanity in general remain the same. Unfortunately, Donald Trump remains topical, not for anything he has accomplished, but for his most recent criminal activities.
