Just weeks ago, Trump was arrogant and smug. He and President Biden were virtually tied in the polls, and the press allowed him to attack Mr. Biden for his age, without admitting that he is just three years younger. Voters who profess their loyalty to Democrats or Republicans are wasting their votes. If you vote for any candidate for the sole reason that they have an “R” or a “D” next to their name, you are choosing to be ignorant. I have been an Independent since the first year in which I could vote, 1968. I admit that most of the time prior to 2000, I voted for more Democrats than Republicans. However, beginning in 2000, I have never found anyone claiming to be a Republican worthy of my vote at the federal level. The more you read, the more information you possess. However, you also possess a great deal of misinformation. The key is sorting out facts from a plethora of baseless conspiracy theories. Sometimes I discard everything, and read seemingly unrelated articles featuring the statements, remarks, and questions of average Americans. I occasionally find a recurring theme. Trump is a convicted felon. 20 years ago the real Republican Party would have dropped him for what he is: unfit for any office at any level. However, a politicized Supreme Court declared Trump above the law, and he will continue his pitiful campaign. The Court also ignored the exact wording of the 14 th Amendment, which prevents anyone involved in an attempt to overthrow our government the right to run for election.
