Every Morning, I Cringe as I Turn On my Laptop
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart In eight months, if I live that long, I will be an octogenarian. I grew up reading the Sunday newspaper, mostly the comics section. By the time I was in high school, I read the morning paper daily, primarily the sports section. By my junior year, one of my teachers made it a requirement to read the entire front page and more. In 2025, it is a sad fact that reading a newspaper has become obsolete for most. I don’t watch television news: none of it is entirely accurate or based on the complete truth. I turn on my computer and open numerous websites, searching for the truth about what happened on the previous day or while I was asleep. Over the last 10 years, most mainstream media agencies cover Trump more than anything or anyone else. Therefore, there is no “good news.” Most of what I read is revolting and contain attacks on the future of my beloved country.
