Multiple promises were made to the working-class in 2024. But, as it was in 2016, they were all lies. Greedflation continues to grow here in Nevada and across the United States. The invasion of Ukraine continues to escalate, and taxes have been raised on working Americans, and lowered for the super-rich. Unless an Act of God happens in the next three days, our federal government will shut down on Wednesday. America is the only nation which passes an annual budget, and later requires an agreement on the “debt ceiling,” and how those funds are allocated. In 2025 our government is undoubtedly the most corrupt and incompetent in the world. However, the primary reason was far simpler than what is contained in the volumes written by historians. It comes down to one issue: human rights. Everything they accomplished at the Constitutional Convention between 1787 and 1789 was focused on the individual. The country belongs to the people. They choose their leaders who are nothing more than public servants. Their creation of a ‘check and balance system,’ three branches with equal but separate powers, would prevent what is happening today. I often heard them say, “I don’t know why I read this shit, there’s nothing but bad news.” As I grew older, I began to read more than the “funny papers.” I read the sports page daily. By the time I was in high school we were required to read the front page. Then it was me who complained that there was nothing but ‘bad news.’ Today, July 24, 2025, it is not ‘bad news,’ everything I read is pure evil. Anger, hatred, and violence. This is what I see and what I read about over the last four months. My wife and I do not watch any “television news broadcasts,” because we hate liars and reject conspiracy theories. However, we do read news and blogs from around the world and fact check constantly. On Friday, Trump and Vance met with Ukraine President Zelenskyy in the Oval Office. When the fat old bully didn’t get his way, he and Vance began screaming at the leader of the country invaded by Trump’s puppeteer three years ago. I am a proud pacifist. Violence never accomplishes anything, and no war has ever been “won.” Even when I was a martial arts instructor, my first attempt was to encourage my students to avoid violence whenever possible. For three hours I remained horrified as a group of thugs and villains obeyed the orders of their demagogue and violently attempted to destroy a democratic process which would become the end of America. Trump does not know how to accomplish anything. Like other worthless public service employees, he is an expert at undoing the great things accomplished by others.
