Those of us who never served on the ground in South Vietnam constantly questioned the justification for a war halfway around the world and felt great anger as we watched our family, friends, and acquaintances arrive home in body bags. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart Yes, it’s true. Director of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, fucked up in a major way. She is responsible for a number of deaths in the recent Texas flash floods. Failing to immediately order FEMA to respond resulted in the delay of rescue services which could have saved lives. However, if you are honest, this is no surprise. In fact it was expected. Not a single member of Trump’s administration, including the Fuhrer himself, is qualified for a position in government at any level. It begins with J.D. Vance. No one, including his fellow Republicans considered him Vice-Presidential material. He continues to prove they were right. Trump’s greatest failure is undoubtedly his Secretary of Defense. If the people of Iowa cared, I would feel sorry for them. However, they continue to reelect two of the worst, self-serving Senators in American history: Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst. Grassley is the senior Senator from Iowa. In his situation, it is valid to use the word “senior” in more ways than one. The press, mainstream media, late night comics, Trump, and his failed party made age an issue in 2024. This was a smoke screen. He is 82 years of age, and I believe he is too old to be our president. Trump is 78 ½ years old, and mentally impaired. He is equally unqualified to lead our nation. However, the “winner” in this discussion is Chuck Grassley. “Grassley, who will turn 91 this fall, has spent seven terms in the Senate championing ethanol and Iowa pig farmers and throwing sand in the gears of the government whenever he gets the chance.” (This part of the article comes from March, 2024. Trump has nominated a second-rate Fox News personality, Pete Hegseth, for Secretary of Defense. He has no experience and not a single qualification to have such an important and influential position in Trump’s illegitimate administration. These are the most important factors for denying Trump his first choice. However, Hegseth’s own mother offers another reason to reject the Fox failure: his lack of morals and character. A 2018 email from Penelope Hegseth accused her son of routinely mistreating women and displaying a lack of character. “You are an abuser of women – that is the ugly truth and I have no respect for any man that belittles, lies, cheats, sleeps around, and uses women for his own power and ego,” Penelope Hegseth wrote in the email obtained by the New York Times.
