Ms. Harris, Don’t Talk to the Media: The Press is no Longer Trustworthy or Respected
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart I am attaching an article with the headline, “Kamala Harris Must Talk to the Press.” By Margaret Sullivan The very meaning of the title is bullshit. There is no reason for the Vice-President to sit down for interviews with the mainstream media. Her message is for the people: the men and women who will choose her as our first woman president. THE FINAL DESTRUCTON OF THE FOURTH ESTATE Beginning in 2015, the once respected Fourth Estate committed suicide. When Trump declared his candidacy in June of 2015, all media, legitimate or fake, began covering Trump ad nauseum. As the campaign proceeded, it was revealed that he received five times more media coverage than all other candidates combined, including Hillary Clinton. They all capitulated to the idea that sensationalism increases viewership, and increased viewership creates greater advertising revenue. It was of no importance that everything Trump said was a lie, not once were the important issues facing our natio
