All we knew was “something didn’t seem right.” I learned that sometimes common sense must take precedence over everything else, or suffer the consequences. One of the reasons why anyone ignores facts, probably responding, “I don’t believe that,” is because common sense has become uncommon in 2024. GUILTY, GUILTY, AND GUILTY Communication in the 21st century is instant and often infused with facts, undeniable facts. However, millions of Americans have lost their ability to accept reality. In a court of law, facts can be twisted. The same is true with “news” broadcasts and podcasts. To gain an individual’s confidence, tell them what they want to hear. Just ask any professional politician. As a writer, my philosophy has always remained the same. When I am presented with a story, I neither believe nor disbelieve its veracity.   Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart First, all we really need to confirm that Trump’s “Big Lie” is just that and evidence that the malignant narcissist cannot accept the fact that he is the world’s biggest loser. Trump not only lost the 2020 election, he got his ass kicked by the real American people. The margin of victory for Mr. Biden was enormous, and the turnout was the largest in our nation’s history. [Biden won the election with 306 electoral votes and 51.3% of the national popular vote, compared to Trump's 232 electoral votes and 46.9% of the popular vote.] In the popular vote, Mr. Biden received nearly eight million more votes than the orange buffoon. This should be enough to convince anyone with less than average intelligence that Trump is a liar, and a sore loser. DON’T BELIEVE THE FACTS? Not a single case in more than 60 states or the Supreme Court of the United States, supported one allegation claimed by Trump’s incompetent attorneys. He was soundly defeated in both the Electoral College and popular vote: the latter by about eight-million votes. However, Trump’s response to the Charlotteville tragedy, claiming “there were good people on both sides,” and the fact that he planned the January 6 failed coup with the assistance of leaders of America’s Neo-Nazi groups, prove that he is the leader of the fascist movement in America. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart   If you believe that Fox News is legitimate, bringing their audience facts about current events from around the world, you are making a choice, allowing yourself to be brainwashed. The truth is, Fox was created by Rupert Murdoch in 1996 for two purposes: increase advertising revenue by any means possible, and to become a propaganda machine for right-wing extremists. Their original primetime personalities included one man and one woman who apparently had credentials offering them an opportunity to claim the title of “journalist.” However, after the Roger Ailes scandal, related to sexual harassment and assault, Megyn Kelly resigned. Later it was discovered that their most successful host, Bill O’Reilly, has falsified the contents of his books, and also engaged in actions making him a sexual predator, he was forced to resign his lucrative position.
