But this time it’s taking place in the “world of opposites.” In power on Capitol Hill and within the White House are traitors who would overthrow the nation created by our Founding Fathers. The first election in which I could participate was in 1968. Tough year. I have less than a handful of “heroes.” One of them was murdered in April of 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King, and the brother of another, John F. Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, was murdered in Los Angeles in June. He would have received my first vote. The winner of the 1968 election was Richard M. Nixon, He resigned in 1974, replaced by V.P. As an old, obese man lumbered towards the camera, while a voice ove was played. The words were attacks on anyone who failed to agree with and support the man attempting to walk while staring at the camera’s lens. It was nine inches in diameter, and the picture was in black and white. There were only three channels, and the broadcasts ended at midnight, returning at six in the morning. We were a poor family and the “boob tube” was our only source of entertainment. In its beginning, broadcast television was limited and there were many restrictions.
