  Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart   What will happen tomorrow in a courtroom would h ave had a far different response 40 -60 years ago.   In 1960 John F. Kennedy faced the stigma of being a mem ber of the Catholic Church. This single issue made the general election a much closer race than it should have been.   In 1988, after four years of Ronald Reagan’s wars on the working class, minorities, and women, along with a failed fiscal policy which placed our nation deeply in debt, a handsome and popular senator from Colorado was poised to defeat George H . W. Bush and become our nation’s 41 st president.   However, when it was discovered that Gary Hart had a mistress, by the name of Donna Rice, he dropped out of the race. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart   No one with an average IQ has ever taken Trump seriously; he is not a serious man. He has never said anything of importance in 77 years. However, political cartoonists continue to create caricatures displaying Trump as a fool, a charlatan, and a buffoon for decades. He has no sense of humor, because humor requires intelligence. Facts prove that nothing coming from Trump’s pie hole has impressed anyone with average intelligence. In fact, we reject his baseless lies and conspiracy theories. When he was arrested in Georgia last week and posed for his mugshot, he attempted to appear fierce. What a joke. Trump is a bully and all bullies are cowards. Around the world Trump’s mugshot is creating laughter. Laughter at the picture itself, and laughter at the man beneath who continues to prove that he cannot be taken seriously. Mark Hamill, a.k.a. When Trump clearly lost the 2020 election and refused to accept the peaceful transference of power, which resulted in his planning, organizing, and executing an attempted coup against his own government he should have been arrested immediately and placed in a federal prison awaiting trial for treason. If this does not fit the definition of “treason,” I don’t know what would. Treason: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. He and his army remain free and are allowed to spread their lies, conspiracy theories, and divide our nation irrevocably. During the 2016 campaign Trump told his cult that he ‘could shoot someone in Times Square and nothing would happen.’ He believed then that he was above the law. In two impeachment trials, Moscow Mitch McConnell proved that he was, and today our entire government in Washington refuses to place him in a federal prison although the world knows he is the greatest criminal in American history.
