America is 15 th out of the group of 15 developed nations. Our country is near the bottom in healthcare, and education, but in the most important category, quality of life, our nation is at the very bottom. Most American workers struggle to maintain an acceptable quality of life for themselves and their families. Hanging over their heads is fear: fear that a health emergency will destroy the lifestyle they have worked so hard and long for their family. After United Healthcare CEO, Brian Thompson was murdered, a poll taken of young voters, age 30 and under, described his killing as “acceptable” by a whopping 41 percent. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart If the law and justice were synonymous, Donald Trump would be in a federal detention facility awaiting trial today. In the early 1950’s, two seemingly ordinary citizens were arrested, convicted, and executed for violating the Espionage Act. They were selling our nation’s nuclear secrets to a foreign nation. Trump acted in a similar manner in 2021, and lied about his possession of national secrets two more times, but remains a free man who is allowed to run for the presidency. Something is very, very wrong with this situation. ABOVE THE LAW? Why is Trump given a free pass for two of the most serious crimes anyone can commit against our nation? However, the January 6, 2021 insurrectionists who attempted to overthrow our government have been given “slaps on the wrists,” sentenced to a few years after attempting an overthrow of our nation’s democracy. When Trump clearly lost the 2020 election and refused to accept the peaceful transference of power, which resulted in his planning, organizing, and executing an attempted coup against his own government he should have been arrested immediately and placed in a federal prison awaiting trial for treason.
