Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart Trump has never worked a full day in his pitiful and worthless life. He has no idea how difficult life can be for most Americans. The sad truth is, he doesn’t care. Friday, Trump laid off more than 4,000 federal employees. In the first weeks of his illegitimate administration, he and his former “bestie,” Elon Musk. chose to fire thousands of government employees who actually worked for a living. Because of his destructive actions, Trump is blocking the monthly jobs report, knowing that unemployment is reaching levels not seen since 2007. The truth is clear. The posted schedule for the men and women who hold positions in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of our corrupt government are paid excessive amounts of money, but only perform their responsibilities for a small amount of time each year. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart Not knowing something does not make you stupid. No one knows everything, although Trump lies and tells you he does. Ignorance is not normal: it’s a choice. When information is available, but you choose to believe lies and half-truths, you choose to be ignorant. But the facts cannot be denied. In America, watching television news is ignorant. The fourth estate ceased to exist once and for all on January 20, 2025. Half-truths are more dangerous than blatant lies. A story, which contains a small amount of truth, is easy for the uninformed to accept as fact. Television news is a large factor in the dumbing down of America. Only one “information source” is worse: social media. If you spend any time on social media, you will soon become a moron. 99 percent of everything on Facebook, “X” and other fake news outlets is misleading and most often completely untrue. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart Another story proving that the government of the United States is the most corrupt and incompetent in the world of developed nations. Our country is facing another government shutdown. Wait a minute. In March, 2024, the Senate approved the 2024 national budget of 1.2 trillion dollars. The House voted in favor of the bill just days before. Only three months into a new year, and Congress finally did its job. In any other developed nation in the world, this would be the end of an agreement which decided how much money would be spent and where it would go. Not in the United States. Only in America, there is a “debt limit” which must be agreed to by both parties prior to the end of the fiscal year, September 30, 2024. If you don’t understand any of this, you are not alone.
