On January 20, 2017, Washington was changed forever. It’s composition for 241 years had been men and women who were patriots, loyal to the American people, and most were intent upon improving the lives of all Americans, while keeping them safe from our enemies, both foreign and domestic. However, since 1981 the former Grand Old Party began moving further to the right, and it was clearly divided between Moderates, the Tea Party, and a new fascist-leaning group calling themselves the Freedom Caucus. When Trump began his reign of terror, every man and woman calling themselves Republicans began to bow to the wannabe Fuhrer. On Tuesday evening, Trump’s former press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, revealed his true feelings during a speech at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. She resigned her post on January 6, 2021 after watching Trump’s failed coup attempt. Her speech was not vengeful, but a warning for anyone who refuses to see the real Donald Trump. The message was clear and 100 percent accurate: Trump is not interested in anyone but himself. However, on Thursday, May 30, 2024, he had another moment of shame which may become his most devastating crime of all. A jury of his peers, or in this case, “superiors,” found him guilty on all 34 counts after his so-called “hush money trial.” However, and this is not a joke, Trump will still be allowed to run for public office.
