Trump Proves Himself the Worst Possible Choice Last November, and the Most Expensive

Image
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart $270,000 per hour: that’s what it costs to operate Air Force One. More than $23,000,000: that is the amount of taxpayer money Trump spent using Air Force One for his personal pleasure in a little more than six months: lumbering around a golf course and partying at Mar-a-Lago. This does not include multiple additional expenses paid for by taxpayers. The total cost could reach $35,000,000. How much will he cost America over the next 42 months? Trump is in Scotland: not on our nation’s business, but promoting and playing golf at his latest acquisition, another golf course. If this is not a violation of the Emoluments Clause, my reading comprehension must be slipping. This is another reason why he must be impeached for the third time. Over the last six months, Trump fired hundreds of government workers, removed healthcare from tens of millions of needy Americans, and continues to ignore growing inflation, the war in Ukraine, and other critical issues faced by 340 mi...

It’s Called the “Emoluments Clause” and Trump is Getting Away with Constitutional Violations Again

Image
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart Between 2017 and 2021, Congress, the DOJ, and a corrupted Supreme Court allowed Trump to violate the Emoluments Clause for 1,460 days. That’s every day he was your illegitimate president. Trump continued to maintain control of his personal business interests, both foreign and domestic. After four years, Trump’s business interests reported a 2.4 billion dollar profit. The problem is that no one cared that he was violating one of the oldest entries in the Constitution. The frame workers of the Constitution included the Emoluments Clause to prevent undo influence from businesses both foreign and domestic. No one, Democrats, or Republicans is concerned that Trump violates the Constitution every day he pretends to be your illegitimate president. “As the US president fires thousands in the name of preventing alleged fraud, he continues to spend taxpayer funds on his outings.” This is from the Guardian. Between 2017 and 2021, Trump used taxpayer money for his personal ...

Trump, the Emoluments Clause, and Impeachment

Image
In 2018, Trump should have been impeached for the first time. He was impeached in 2019 and again in 2021. The fact that he was not impeached during his first or second year in office proves that our government is totally corrupt, and that the United States is a nation without laws. Trump refused to divest himself from the Emoluments Clause, continuing his foreign business interests. At the end of his four-year term, Trump Corp made a profit of 1.7 billion dollars. [The Emoluments Clause, a crucial part of the U.S. Constitution, aims to prevent corruption and undue influence on government officials by prohibiting them from accepting gifts or benefits from foreign or domestic entities without congressional consent. While it doesn't explicitly outline specific punishments for violations, potential consequences include legal action, impeachment, and the loss of credibility.] Above all of his crimes, including violations of the Emoluments Clause, his most egregious and arrogant is accep...

How Foreign Nations Pay for “Special Favors” from Trump

Image
Between 2017 and 2021, Trump refused to divest himself from his foreign business relationships. This was a violation of the Emoluments Clause, lasting for 1,460 days. Over four years, his company profited more than 1.7 billion dollars. In the 1980’s, an acceptable value was established for presidents receiving gifts from foreign nations at $480. In a single situation, Trump accepted a set of golf clubs from Japan worth more than $250,000. Today, Trump is planning to accept a luxury aircraft from Qatar. The gift is a Boeing 747-8, valued at more than $400,000,000. It would be used as Air Force One during his term, and then become his personal property. As Laura Loomer, Trump ally and confidant, states: “Qatar is not our friend.” How much longer will congress, the Supreme Court, and even our military allow Trump to ‘piss’ on the Constitution? He must be removed from our White House by any means available. Op-ed by James Turnage If you follow my blog, you will be an informed citizen Sourc...

Washington Mafia 2.0: Don Trump has Returned

Image
All heads of mob organizations demand absolute loyalty. If this sounds familiar, it’s because you have read at least one story about how Trump demands fealty from all of his “people” although he never offers loyalty in return. Trump’s cabinet and other close advisers share two things in common: none of them are qualified for their positions, and all of them are loyal to Trump for a variety reasons, including criminal activity. He is protecting them from prosecution. In return, each of them continues to kiss his humongous derriere on a regular basis. It is fair to compare Trump’s entire life to those of infamous mobsters Al Capone, and John Gotti. From his early days Trump committed crimes big and small. These were desperate efforts to maintain the lifestyle of a real billionaire. He has now become the unquestionable leader of the Washington Mafia 2.0 in 2025. Long before Putin decided to make Trump your president, he was committing tax fraud by inflating the value of his properties whe...

Merrick Garland was a Huge Disappointment

Image
In February of 2016 the most radical right-wing Supreme Court ju stice, Antonin Scalia, died suddenly. There were nine months before the next election.    However, Moscow Mitch McConnell violated the rules specified in the Constitution, and made his own rule, claiming that no Supreme Court justice would be confirmed during an election year. He would break this rule for his own benefit in October of 2020. Merrick Garland was President Obama’s nominee.   I am one of many who believe that as our Attorney General under President Biden, Garland will be remembered as the worst in history. After Trump planned, organized, and executed a violent insurrection on January 6, 2021, no charges were filed by the Department of Justice.   My wife and I watched all three hours of the attempted coup, and there is no doubt Trump committed treason. The facts prove that if Garland had the courage to do his job, Trump wou ld not be taking the oath of office on Mond ay . Garland pla...

If Trump Remained in Office, He Would be Impeached for a Third Time

Image
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart   Trump was in office for 1,460 days. He committed at least one crime during every sad day he pretended to be your president. We all know of his many Constitutional violations and his crimes against humanity, and we all know that he was impeached for cause twice but never received a fair trial in the Senate. Most of us knew about a situation confirmed and reported to the general public today, which would have demanded a third impeachment. The Emoluments Clause is clear: “The plain purpose of the foreign emoluments clause was to ensure that the country’s leaders would not be improperly influenced, even unconsciously, through gift giving, then a common and generally corrupt practice among European rulers and diplomats. An early version of the clause, modeled on a rule adopted by the Dutch Republic in 1651 that forbade its foreign ministers from receiving “any presents, directly or indirectly, in any manner or way whatever,” was incorporated into the Articles o...
