Why Democrats Fail to Dominate our Federal Government
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
I support the majority of a Democratic platform. My problem
is that I find the Democratic Party disorganized and constantly fails to offer
a united front.
“I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a
Democrat.” Will Rogers died in 1935.
Nothing has changed for decades. Since 1981, when Ronald
Reagan demanded 100 percent loyalty from his party, this policy has remained
the only constant within the Republican Party, until 2016. However, on January
20, 2017, Republicans revealed levels of cowardice and hypocrisy I had never
seen before.
On the other side of the aisle, not once over that same
period of time have I witnessed a unified Democratic Party. If they adopted the
same policy as Republicans, I have no doubt that Democrats would have
controlled the presidency and both houses of Congress for most of the latter
part of the 20th century into the 21st.
DEMOCRATS ARE REPEATING THEMSELVES
Today, July 9, 2024, Congress is back in session. However,
neither party is performing the duties for which they were elected.
Republicans will be planning new strategies to protect Trump
from prison by hiding his many crimes with the assistance of a politicized
Supreme Court.
Democrats are meeting to discuss the future of their
candidate, President Biden. They are considering removing their support and
denying the will of Democratic voters by abandoning their support at next month’s
convention. Their apparent replacement would be Vice-President Kamala Harris.
I HAVE ALWAYS SUPPORTED MS. HARRIS
During the 2020 primary season I supported Ms. Harris. My
reasons were based on age, 59, sex, female, ethnicity, Black and Indian,
intellect, brilliant, and experience, state District Attorney, state Attorney
General, United States Senator, and Vice-President of the United States.
After the debate, and all the speculations began, I remained
supportive of Mr. Biden, not that I believed he is the stronger candidate, but
because his accomplishments deserve our appreciation and support.
However, recently I have discovered incidents which question
my loyalty. Leaders of our nation’s allies, major donors, and a growing number
of Democratic members of the House and Senate forced me to rethink my position.
Then I learned that recent interviews on ABC and other
pro-Democrat media were apparently staged. Interviewers received a list of
questions from Biden’s aides prior to the actual interviews.
I hate politics and politicians. They cannot be trusted.
WHERE I STAND
I woke up this morning still undecided. However, as the
morning passed, I now believe that this election is critical to our nation’s
future, and Trump cannot be allowed to win and put an end to democracy once and
for all. The most recent biased and politicized decision by Trump’s stacked
Supreme Court will allow the Russian agent to create a fascist regime and end
the dream of our Founding Fathers forever.
Kamala Harris will do one thing neither President Biden nor
Trump can: she will create a level of excitement neither of these two old men can
accomplish. This is the single element which has been missing since both men
declared their candidacy. No one wanted a repeat of 2020, with the exception of
the result.
Ms. Harris will attract demographics neither Trump nor Biden
can. I firmly believe that the American people are ready for a woman president.
Before Nikki Haley ended her campaign to win the Republican
presidential nomination, I wrote an article calling Republicans what they are:
fools and incompetents.
I am positive that if she had her party’s support, she would
have defeated President Biden in November. Trump was soundly defeated in 2020,
and faces the same results this year.
Mr. Biden is vulnerable. Republican strategists have no
plans if Ms. Harris becomes the Democratic nominee. It could be very
interesting, and a reason for another historic voter turnout.
