Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart As an original baby boomer, I have been privy to the rebuilding of America post WWII. I have experienced changes, both good and bad, moving forward and moving backwards. However, what I saw over the last 10 years, how the progressive changes of the previous 44 presidents were destroyed by one fascist old man, in concert with his failed, and cowardly party, and under the direction of his puppeteer. All I see is the end of my country and destruction of the dreams of our Founding Fathers. No one who loves this country as much as I do would have believed what is happening in America today in their most terrifying nightmares. I never believed that the American people would be stupid enough to vote for the least qualified man in history. If they knew anything about him, they would know that in addition to being a sexual predator, his business practices were composed of criminal actions. My father, and four of my uncles on my mother’s side of the family, fought against Hitler’s fascist army in WWII. My mother was one of many women we affectionately labeled as “Rosie the Riveter” at Boeing’s Seattle plant during the war. I am an original baby boomer, born in 1946. I despise Trump for many legitimate reasons, but one of the most important is the fact that he calls the men and women who gave their lives to preserve freedom in WWI and WWII, “losers and suckers.” Today, this traitorous, illegitimate president is following the Republican’s fascist manifesto “Project 2025” exactly as he wrote it. When he was much younger, Trump read the speeches made by Adolf Hitler over and over again. In 2017 and again in 2025, Trump is using Hitler’s tactics to control his ill-informed “basement dwellers.” He learned that if you tell a lie often enough, the people will eventually accept it as fact.
