America’s ‘Injustice System’ is Designed to Protect the Rich and Powerful

If you are a low-income or poor America who will soon appear in a court of law, you will find justice is swift and brutal. However, if you are rich, and/or powerful and face similar charges, your case may not come to trial for years, and the outcome is likely predestined. The Sixth Amendment in the United States Constitution guarantees the right to a speedy trial in all criminal prosecutions. This sounds good, but the truth is this amendment offers the rich and powerful more ways to escape a fair trial and to never be punished for their crimes. The best lawyers in America are also the most expensive. Our nation’s justice system is similar to the Income Tax Code. The Tax Code is composed of 6,871 pages.
