Lindsey Graham has cemented his legacy. He will forever be remembered as “the biggest wimp in the Senate.” From June of 2015 until November 8, 2016, Graham attacked Trump and rightfully claimed that he would be a danger to our nation’s future. However, after John McCain lost his battle with cancer in 2018, he gleefully surrendered himself to the orange buffoon. Since that day in August, Graham has become one of the biggest hypocrites in world history. The Senator from South Carolina renounced his morals, principles, integrity, and self-respect to the worst man in the world. I was watching television and another Republican legislator, whose name I do not remember said, “if Trump tells us to jump three feet high and scratch our head, we do it.” This is what is wrong with Washington and what is so revolting about Graham. I am not alone. There are millions of patriotic Americans who knew that a second Trump presidency would be more destructive and disastrous than the first. He hasn’t been sworn in yet, which is a waste of time because taking the oath will be another huge lie, and he is attacking our democracy and our security today. Trump’s decisions are moronic, and scare the hell out of me.   His choices for advisors, including his cabinet, in his first long, long four years occasionally spent in the White House were outrageous. However, his new list must be a practical joke. They are so ridiculous and so unfit that even some Republicans are questioning the decision-making ability of the old man who will be farting in the White House. Let me try to understand this. In 2020, Joe Biden crushed Trump in the popular vote by seven million ballots. That would mean that for Trump to win the popular vote in 2024, about four million voters would have had to abandon Kamala Harris to vote for the worst possible candidate in history. I couldn’t believe this no matter how may illegal drugs I was given. The 2020 election proved that real Americans hated the worst president in history. Any Democrat could have defeated him. Trump’s release of the names of some of his cabinet choices and other aides is the only glimmer of hope for our nation’s future. Trump knows nothing about being a leader, and his recent choices of men and women who will serve in the White House know even less about what their positions will require. This means that the harm they intend to place upon our nation and its people will surely be of less gravity than it might have been. Trump proved that he is incompetent by choice and by lack of ability for four long years. His actual accomplishments register a huge zero.   I grew up in the 1950’s and 1960’s. There were many imperfections in America’s government which I learned about in high school. However, I was proud to claim the title of “American citizen.” I was positive that our Founding Fathers believed good people would improve upon their dreams.   Thousands of individuals in my part of Northern Nevada checked to see if their votes were counted at the registrar’s office. Many of them were not. Did this happen in other “swing states?” What about the bogus bomb threats? How long were the voting machines unattended? I am not a conspiracy theorist, but something is definitely suspicious about the outcome of the November 5 th election. The final poll showed Kamala Harris ahead nationally by three points.   Okay, when Trump announced his choice of Little Marco Rubio to be his Secretary of State, I chuckled. Rubio is known as “the laziest senator in Washington.” He was expected not run for reelection in 2016. However, Moscow Mitch McConnel was desperate to retain Republican numbers in the senate and convinced him to remain on the ballot. When I read that Trump planned to nominate Rubio for Secretary of State, I assumed the orange buffoon had found a sense of humor, so I laughed a little. Today completes one week since one of the darkest days in our nation’s history. I find it strange that in just nine years my list of the darkest days in American history has drastically changed. Prior to Trump’s intrusion into our nation’s politics, my personal list of the most horrific days in our nation’s 248 years began with three unforgettable and unforgettable events: 9/11, December 7, 1941, and the assassination of John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. In the 21 st century, I believe there are other tragic events which threatened our nation’s future from within. In 1981, Ronald Reagan adopted a fiscal policy he called “supply side economics,” but is known as “trickle down economics” by most Americans. It was a major failure. The quality of life for working Americans stagnated or declined. Unemployment rose. The national debt rose to one-trillion dollars by the end of Reagan’s second term in 1989. His Republican successors, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump used the same policies, the worst being Trump who added an estimated eight trillion dollars to the national debt in just four years. In each situation, our nation’s economy was saved by a Democrat: Bill Clinton in 1992, Barack Obama in 2008, and Joe Biden in 2000. This is reality, not a fallacious television ad. What happened on that day and what did not happen in the days following the failed coup offered irrefutable truth that our nation’s government is corrupt, irresponsible, and incompetent. Trump is America’s biggest traitor but remains a free man seeking the presidency. This one event and it’s affect on our nation and its future made it far worse than December7, 1941, or September 11, 2001. Tomorrow, November 5, 2024, will either be the new ‘darkest day in our nation’s history,’ or a new beginning with hope on the horizon. Trump is not a Democrat, a Republican, or an American. I continue to have one question: “where is the high velocity bullet?” After it supposedly caused his ear to bleed, it had to have come to rest somewhere behind him. Since that day, 32 years ago, no Republican has won the popular vote with the exception of George W. Bush after his reelection bid in 2004. If the Electoral College did not exist, no Republican would have resided in the White House since January 20, 1993. Kamala Harris will undoubtedly win the popular vote on Tuesday, so the question becomes, “will the states void the will of the people again?” The bottom line is that Republicans cannot win if the Electoral College did not exist Every vote should count.
