Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart Every politician’s biggest lie: “America is the greatest country in the world.” A study including 15 nations places the United States in 15 th place when studying the quality of life for the average citizen. Politician’s second biggest lie is: “America is the richest nation in the world.” I have no idea which of our American people they are speaking about. One-half of all Americans live in the low-income level or below the poverty line. More than 500,000 Americans are homeless. However, Republicans on the Supreme Court just told us, “it’s not our problem.” COMPASSION HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH AVARICE AND A DESIRE FOR CONTROL OVER ANYONE WHO IS NOT EXTREMELY WEALTHY The number of Americans having no permanent place to live is on the rise. As a proud and patriotic American, I cannot accept the fact that a convicted felon, a convicted sexual predator, an admitted fascist based on his promised actions if elected, a man without morals or principles could defile our White House for another four years. However, I am telling you that it may not matter. The most important branch of our government is now the Supreme Court. When Trump, Moscow Mitch McConnell, and the Federalist Society colluded to stack the Court in favor of right-wing extremists, it became our Founding Father’s greatest nightmare. The Court is now politicized, and likely will remain so for the next 30-40 years. He looked old, tired, and appeared to not be well. Our nation has only two major political parties, and neither of them will ever receive one dollar in donations from me. I just turned off the highly advertised “presi dential debate.” Two journalists who I once respected, allowed Trump to refuse answering direct questions and offer his own fallacious agenda. Jake Tapper and Dana Bash failed to use their mute buttons and force the most infamous liar in history to continue lying to the American people and attack a real American president.   Trump refused to answer questions about his position on abortion, immigration reform, and his support of Vladimir Putin ’s illegal invasion of Ukraine. Op-e d by TheWiseOldFart   Fact: Religious Extremism is r esponsible for the torture and deaths of more innocent people in hi story than any other.   In its most extreme form, organized religion becomes the greatest evil imaginable. The Crusades and the attacks on 9/11 were both the result of religious extremism.   Religion is a personal choice, and it should remain that way. For every argument favoring a single religion over another, there are a dozen reasons why all religions are based on unrealistic and unsupported claims about places like heaven or hell. All religions were created by men whose goals were control and power over others. In modern times, fake religious leaders use religion to live unrealistic lives of great power, luxury and privilege.
