The Antichrist Continues to Use Religion as a Justification for Evil

Our Founding Fathers considered these promises, these guarantees of human rights, the most important paragraph ever written. “ Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” The first line was obviously extremely important to the men who signed the Constitution in 1789. The “straw that broke the camel’s back,” and why they left England, was the declaration by King George III that the Anglican Church would be the single religion in the British Empire. This single sentence clearly demands the separation of Church and State. It guarantees all Americans the right to practice the religion of their choice, but also guarantees freedom from religion.
