Right-Wing Attacks on Immigrants Founded on Lies, Ignorance, and White Supremacy
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart America would not exist without immigrants. Every man, woman, and child who lived in the colonies, long before the existence of the United States, was an immigrant, mostly from Western Europe.
The largest period of immigrants arriving in America was between 1861 and 1890. Approximately 10.4 million people came to our nation’s shores, most from Southern and Eastern Europe.
The first unwilling immigrants from Africa were brought to the New World in 1619. This atrocity continues to haunt America today.
FACTS YOU WILL NEVER SEE OR HEAR ON TELEVISION “NEWS”
The number of all-white babies is in decline in the United States, while the number of deaths of all-whites is increasing. This fact is frightening to supporters of white supremacy movements and Neo-Nazi organizations.
Meanwhile, the number of multiracial babies born in America increased from 5.6 percent in 2010 to 15.1 percent in 2020, according to the Census Bureau. It is estimated that the percentage of multi-race Americans will continue to grow exponentially.
America’s baseless fear of immigration is the root cause for acres of fruits and vegetables rotting in the fields. The men and women who once labored in the fields has been devastated by right-wing efforts to put an end to all immigration with the exception of pure whites. Facts prove that children of pure white parents refuse to apply for employment which requires any physical labor.
WHAT I SEE IS AMERICA
I know that I am not alone when I look at America in 2024. I don’t see people whose skin is primarily black, white, yellowish, reddish, or anything else. What I see are beautiful shades and skin tones which look like the America I expected in my youth.
What I see are not only beautiful colors, I see a mixture of cultures which will increase our understanding of the many traditions which reside in our country.
Diversity is beautiful, exciting, and educational. However, white supremacists don’t see it that way and have nothing but fear, anger, and hatred for anyone who is different.
WHY FEWER WHITE BABIES?
The reason for a decrease in white babies is centered in Washington D.C. Our mostly old, white, male legislators continue to suppress women’s rights and deny them equality.
Therefore, women are fighting back. Today there are more women registered to vote than men. In our colleges and universities more women are enrolled than men. Women are rejecting marriage and waiting longer to have children, or choosing not to reproduce.
Many of these women are white. For most minority women, higher education has become impossible. It is a simple matter of costs, not grades or abilities.
ALL GOVERNMENTS ARE BAD: SOME ARE SIMPLY WORSE THAN OTHERS
The government of the United States has become the most corrupt and incompetent in the world. Not only does it hide the truth of what happens in Washington from the people they were elected to serve, they do nothing, and the little they do accomplish is often harmful to the majority.
In 2023, Congress passed just 54 bills. The average is between 200-600 each year.
The Supreme Court can now be added to the list of failures in government. It has become openly politicized in support of the right-wing's extremist and fascist-leaning agenda.
You and I have only one weapon: our vote. If we vote wisely, and ignore the lies from both political parties, we can elect women and men who will serve all Americans, not special interests. It’s up to us. It is our fault that Trump and others like Moscow Mitch McConnell, Ted Cruz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and a long list of others who care about themselves more than the people they were elected to represent, continue to harm our nation instead of preserving its future.
