“I Don’t Know How to Think, That’s Why I’m a Republican”
Op-ed by James Turnage
The Party of Lincoln began a slow death in 1981. When Ronald
Reagan became our 40th president, he met with party leaders and made
a single demand: absolute loyalty. His policies and vision for our nation were
to be supported unconditionally, Dissent would not be tolerated, and if this
demand was not accepted, their future elections would not be supported by him
and every other Republican.
This policy continued throughout the administrations of
George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump.
Insiders claim that most Republicans despise Trump, but fear
losing votes from his cult.
The sad truth is this oath to serve their party’s leader
removes the First Amendment rights of all Republican politicians. America is
all about the exchange of ideas and without free thought, and dissent, fascism
has become an acceptable inclusion into the platform of today’s fake Republican
Party.
“Democrats never agree on anything, that's why they're
Democrats. If they agreed with each other, they would be Republicans.” Will

POLITICS HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE MOST DISRESPECTED PROFESSION,
AND IT’S EVEN WORSE TODAY
In Washington, there are two types of people: those who work
in the Capitol and those who were elected to work, but only pretend to do the
jobs for which they were elected.
In 2023, your “do nothing government” passed 27 bills into
law. The average is 200-600 each year. Blame for this failure is squarely on
the shoulders of Republicans who are in control of the House of
Representatives.
Right-wing politicians are split into at least three separate
groups with three separate agendas: moderates, members of the TEA Party, and
the most extreme, the Freedom Caucus.
In reality, the Freedom Caucus is an extension of Trump’s
team. They receive their orders from him and comply without objection. This group
of only 41 men and women continue to block the passage of laws which would benefit
all Americans. Their loyalty is not to their country but to Trump and his
fascist plans for America contained in Project 2025 and Agenda 47.
DYSFUNCTION, CORRUPTION, LIES, AND THE END OF DEMOCRACY
I am not criticizing Republicans, because there are only a
handful of true Republicans in Washington today. I am focusing my attention to
the party which replaced the GOP on January 20, 2017. Although they use the
name of a party once composed of individuals including Lincoln, Eisenhower, Bob
Dole and others, there is no similarity between real patriots and today’s pretenders.
They should change their name to “Trump’s American Fascist Party.”
THE TRUTH ABOUT TRUMP’S “PEOPLE”
When a large group of people share the same exact beliefs
and ambitions come together, it becomes a cult. This clearly defines all
right-wing politicians and voters today. These men and women chose to surrender
free thought, the right to disagree with others, and the acceptance of any
thoughts and ideas which fail to conform to those of the cult leader. This is
your “Republican Party” in 2024.
R.I.P. Republicans.
