Nevada, Let me Introduce the Real Sam Brown
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
Jacky Rosen has worked for Nevada. She has reached across
party lines to improve the lives of all residents of the Silver State.
Her challenger is a Trump lacky, Sam Brown. Like his Fuhrer,
he is nothing but a con man who will tell lies constantly and pander to
specific groups to win votes.
His ads are lies. He is vehemently opposed to any and all abortions.
He is from a billionaire family, and will not serve working class Nevadans, and
their struggle for affordable housing.
Brown continues with his attempts to create the illusion
that he is from a small town and a middle class American. This is far from the
truth.
In 2022, he attempted to unseat Nevada’s other Senator, Catherine
Cortez-Masto. He failed, but during the campaign made the following fallacious
claims.
“I wasn’t born into power. I’m from small-town America,” he
said in the 2022 ad.
To hear Brown talk, he comes from the most humble of
backgrounds. His was a “sort of working-class family,” he told radio host Ken
Wall back in 2021 (at about the 22-minute mark). That same year, he told a
local news host that he comes from “salt of the earth people,” not from a
“dynasty” (at 23:48).
In 2023, Brown told the press that ‘he couldn’t afford gas
to take his family on vacation.’
ONCE AGAIN, THE TRUTH: AND I’M NOT SORRY
Brown’s extended family owns the NFL franchise, the
Cincinnati Bengals. The estimated worth of this team is four-billion dollars.
He has received direct support from his family for years. Although he claims
that he is not from a family dynasty, his great grandfather founded the
Bengals, and his great-uncle, Michael Brown, is the current owner.
[Just last quarter, Brown netted $13,200 from great-uncle
Michael and his son-in-law, Bengal executive Troy Blackburn. They each donated
$6,600—the maximum allowed. The Nevada Globe reported that during his 2022
race, Brown received “$10,000 from current owners of the team and their
spouses, including a double max contribution ($2900 x 2 = $5800) from team
owner Michael Brown, $2900 from his wife Nancy, $1000 from his aunt, Bengals
Executive VP Katie Blackburn (Paul Brown’s granddaughter) and another $2900 from
his uncle Paul Brown Jr., who is a Vice President of the team.”]
THE TRUTH IS AN ENEMY WHICH CANNOT BE DEFEATED
Trump and his MAGA Party fear the truth. They have survived
with the use of lies and conspiracy theories for the last 40+ years, and will
continue to do so if you allow them to attempt their brainwashing tactics
without exposing lives built on pretense and illusion.
In 2022 Nevada’s voters were wise enough to ignore the lies
and judge Ms. Cortez-Masto for her accomplishments.
Hopefully, on November 5th, they will do the same
and reelect Jacky Rosen.
