My Dream Became a Nightmare

 

I could use this title for many situations in my 78 years. But this refers to last night and a dream I had just before I awoke.

The dream was about Trump and involved his obesity, unhealthy diet, and refusal to exercise. He is so lazy he drives his golfcart onto the greens. He is a poster boy for a stroke or heart attack. This was my dream.

Trump had a massive stroke, preventing him from being sworn in on Monday. However, I was awake immediately and realized that my dream had become a nightmare. The inauguration will take place in just four days. He will once again be lying as he promises to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, against all enemies foreign and domestic.” He is the enemy.

Sometimes I feel like the only person in the world who will be totally embarrassed and sad on Monday. It would have been impossible 30 years ago for a serial philanderer, a convicted felon, and the only sitting president to have committed treason on January 6, 2021 to become our nation’s president. In most other countries in the world, he would have been executed on the White House front lawn on January 6, not waiting to celebrate his controversial victory on November 5, 2024.

Let me ask you a question: “why have both political parties, the mainstream media, and once respected legitimate journalists refused to call the insurrection on January 6 an act of treason?”

My wife and I watched all three hours of the darkest day in American history from the moment Trump stepped onto the hastily constructed stage in front of the White House, It cannot be called anything other than treason. Trump ordered his Neo-Nazi army to march to the Capitol and halt one of the most important and democratic actions by our government, the certification of the Electoral College vote. His only goal was to remain in office and rule over our nation illegally and immorally.

Never forget that two Capitol Policemen lost their lives and at least 150 were injured by the violent mob. Hopefully, we will never see a day which is more vile and destructive to our democracy than January 6, 2021.

“Treason is the act of betraying a country or itsi ruler, or attempting to overthrow the government. It can also refer to the act of betraying a trust or confidence.”

I am ashamed of every man and woman serving in Washington. Democrats and Republicans alike are avoiding the truth, the facts, which I witnessed on that terrible day. There is a reason the attempted coup has never been re-broadcast on television, Our government fears the truth. Neither they nor our military, who did nothing for more than three hours to protect our elected officials, can be trusted or respected. This was the most embarrassing and  shameful day in our nation’s history.

Finally, both former Presidents Clinton and Obama are attending the inauguration on Monday. Hillay will be there as well. Only Michelle Obama will do the right thing and refuse to honor the worst man in the nation who should be in a holding cell awaiting trial. She is also protesting the fact that he is a sexual predator and a man who spent 10 years partying with a serial child molester, Jeffrey Epstein. I am ashamed of Clinton and Obama for not having the courage to do the right thing for our country. They are choosing to spit on the Constitution.
