Erasing History and the Truth
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart For years, red states, dominated by Republican legislators, have attempted to erase facts for which they do not approve from our history books and other publications containing the truth. They want no discussion about the fact that slavery remains our nation’s greatest crime, and pretend that racism is no longer a problem in America. They reject any reference to the LGBTQ community and its struggle to receive the rights guaranteed to them by the Constitution. Blatant lies or attempting to hide the facts cannot prevent the truth from rising into the light of day, hopefully sooner than later. The American Fascist Party’s latest effort was revealed by the Nazi in the White House yesterday. The Trump administration will make decisions about items in the Smithsonian museums which are not “patriotic.” Like his hilarious red hats, what this really means is, “anything which reveals the crimes and sins of white Americans.
