Every year between 2017 and 2020, there were more mass shootings than days on the calendar. But wait: you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. [Data from the Gun Violence Archive (GVA) indicates that 264 mass shootings occurred in the US during the first seven months of 2025. [Specifically, as of August 9, 2025, the GVA reports that 72 mass shootings took place in June and 192 mass shootings were reported in the first five days of July alone.
