Moscow Mitch McConnell is the Symbol of How Old, White Men are Destroying America’s Future

Moscow Mitch McConnell is the Senate minority leader,
serving his 7th term. He is 81 years of age. Recently, he took a
fall and later was led off a stage during a news conference as he was unable to
speak. He is too old and unfit to serve the people of Kentucky or our nation.
Fact: the average age of our nation’s people is 38.9 year of
age. The average age of Congress is 64 years of age. 54 senators are over 65.
In the House, there are 141 men and women who qualify for social security. The
largest demographic belongs to millennials. Pure white Americans are declining
to reproduce, while Black Americans and Hispanics continue to have children.
Our nation is becoming younger, and the Senate, older.
Our government does not represent our people. One other
statistic which applies: women compose 51 percent of our population, but approximately
27 percent of our federal government is composed of women. Republicans have a
total of 40, only 7.5 percent of the total.
Everyone talks about change, and it is extremely important
that the corrupt and incompetent government of the United States makes three
changes if our nation is to survive.
First, we need women and men nearer the average age of our
country’s inhabitants. This is not agism, it is reality. Moscow Mitch and other
septuagenarians and octogenarians in Washington are completely out of touch
with the average American.
Second, for a similar reason we need more women in
Washington. Old, white men have harmed our country for the last 247 years. A
woman’s view and priorities are desperately needed in today’s federal
government.
Third, term limits must be established for not only the
legislative branch, but also the Judicial branch, the Supreme Court. Longevity
in government is destructive and ignores the fact that the current situation
produces corruption and incompetence.
In 2023, the government of the United States of America is
broken beyond repair. Great change can save America’s future but it must happen
immediately or all is lost. In my 77 years, 67 of which I followed politics, I
have never seen a worse group of pretenders. They do nothing but attempt to
destroy the advances made by progressive men and women over the last 78 years.
They lie, preach anger and hatred, and incite violence, all efforts to achieve
their goal of creating a fascist regime are financed by the current plutocracy.
I ask you to turn off television news and find the truth
about every politician on the ballot and read the policies of both political
parties. Your votes will be cast by informed citizens and the quality of our
elected and appointed officials in Washington will increase proportionately.
