The Rapid Demise of the Party of Lincoln

It began in 1981. It was a slow but study process. First, Republican politicians had their free thought removed. They were required to obey Ronald Reagan without question. By the time George W. Bush was given the Electoral College by the Supreme Court in 2000, complete loyalty and the surrender of dignity, principles, and morality began the absolute demise of the Party of Lincoln. Between 2017 and 2021, the Republican Party imploded and right-wing politicians became Republicans in Name Only.

We should all demand that right-wing politicians change their party’s name to something more realistic. “The Donald Trump Party” is too pretentious. However, “The American Fascist Party” would be accurate and apropos. Every politician sitting on the right side of the aisle has surrendered themselves and their future to the worst man in the world, Donald John Trump. Every RINO in Washington has violated their oath of office in which these words are contained: “I swear to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

This week Trump was indicted on multiple felony counts for the fourth time. This obese, old, white buffoon is the leader of the misnamed Republican Party.

[Overall, 35% of Americans have a favorable view of Trump and 62% unfavorable. Among Republicans, though, seven in 10 view the former president favorably, and about 6 in 10 say they want him to make another run for the White House.]

What does this tell us about the American people? It appears that abut 40 percent of all Americans are no longer loyal to their country. They support a confirmed fascist who is an agent of Russian President, Vladimir Putin. The truth is that my America, the nation who raised me in the 1950s and 60s, has been dead and buried since January 20, 2017. Trump succeeded in his mission to destroy the United States of America.

Trump was impeached twice, but a Republican-controlled Senate refused to give him a fair trial. He has been indicted twice for felonies, once for sedition, and again for his organization of the failed coup on January 6, 2021. DJT has been accused by more than 25 women for multiple acts of sexual assault. Why does his party continue to support this career criminal? The answer is clear and simple; they can no longer call themselves “champions of conservatism.” They are a party of extremists.

Lindsey Graham was once a respected Senator from South Carolina. His closest friend was the late Senator from Arizona, John McCain. Mr. McCain was the last true Republican on the right side of the aisle. I am positive he is rolling over in his grave as his former friend, Lindsey Graham, bows to a man who hates our country. After his fourth indictment, Graham claimed that all of the 90+ counts filed against the worst president in history” and “political.”

“The American people can decide whether they want him to be president or not,” said Graham, a fierce critic of Trump before his 2016 election win who became one of his most loyal allies. “This should be decided at the ballot box, not a bunch of liberal jurisdictions trying to put the man in jail.”

I am required here to call “bullshit.’

Trump is not an American, he is a fascist who remains intent on destroying democracy once and for all. No one who loves this country and what it stands for would vote for the worst man in the world.

I wish him well in his future life in prison.
