Some Statistics Which Might Surprise You

Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart

I have no doubt some of these statistics will surprise and even shock you. However, they are based on facts. The mainstream media, Fox News, and right-wing politicians will never tell you the truth. The truth would greatly harm those who call themselves “Republicans” today. Remember, billionaires control the right-wing, and money is the only thing of importance in 21st century America.

I believe that if most Americans were aware that 30 percent of all Americans reject organized religion today, it would change attitudes across our country about multiple issues, including abortion, and the rights of the LGBTQ community. That number is about 90,000,000 people. The most interesting part of this fact is that millennials and succeeding generations compose a large number of this statistic. With an average age of all Americans at 38.3 years of age, this is a significant fact. If women and younger Americans came to agreements on every important issue, they would control every election for the next 50-100 years.

Our federal government contains five political parties. There is one on the left side of the aisle, composed of Democrats. Independents are frequently aligned with their liberal colleagues. These are the first two, and it might surprise you to learn that in 2023, 25% of people identified as Democrat, 25% as Republican, and 49% Independent.

On the right side of the aisle, there are three entirely different parties. There are a few moderate, real Republicans, and two extremist groups calling themselves the TEA Party, and the Freedom Caucus. Both are extreme, but the Freedom Caucus is so far to the right it should be renamed the “American Fascist Party.” These anti-Americans compose 46 members of the House. The Speaker is a devout member of this group.

Fact: the Great Recession during the Bush Administration was the result of poor and greedy decisions by Wall Street bankers. None of them have been charged or punished for their criminal actions. In fact, not a single man or woman with great wealth or power in America has ever been fairly punished for their crimes. Trump remains a free man although he committed treason on January 6, 2021, and stole government secrets, lied about this fact, and planned to sell them to the highest bidder, including foreign nations. Anyone remember the Rosenbergs executions in 1955?

Trump is personally responsible for tens-of-thousands of American lives for his failure to act when he was informed of an approaching health emergency in December of 2019. Trump told the American people that the pandemic “would just go away” until Americans began to die in March of 2020. His refusal to act on the advice of his advisors is the reason more than one-million Americans lost their lives from Covid-19. An additional effect was a near recession which was prevented by President Biden’s quick decisions.

All of these revelations prove that right-wing politicians are incapable and unwilling to do the right thing for the American people.

We can only win the Second Civil War if we go to the polls in large numbers and ensure that Democrats remain in control of the executive branch and the Senate, and regain control of the House.

Vote for yourselves, not a greedy political party.
