The Confederacy is Alive and Thriving: Welcome to the Second Civil War

Wars are not fought exclusively with guns. Experts involved in predictions about future wars agree that the next world war will be a struggle for technology superiority. There is the real reason the discussion of Artificial Intelligence is priority number one.

Our nation is fighting a war today. The reason for this conflict has its origin in the primary reasons for the first Civil War: racism and bigotry.

The Second Civil War began on November 8, 2016, when Donald John Trump became our nation’s illegitimate president elect. A “rigged” election, funded by Vladimir Putin, and aided by the mainstream media and James Comey, handed the presidency to a fascist, and the least qualified man in history to become a leader of men. Although it was confirmed in October of 2106 that Russia was deeply involved in deciding the outcome of our election, our nation’s leaders decided to keep this fact from the voting public. Trump lost the popular vote by more than three million ballots, but was awarded the votes of the Electoral College by the miniscule number of less than 80,000 total votes in three populous states, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan. This was the closest election in history. In all three states Trump’s contested victory was by less than one percent. This Civil War is between right-wing MAGA Republicans and the American people.

Republicans attempting to win their party’s presidential nomination in 2024 continue their attempts to separate themselves from the worst illegitimate president in history. However, one of the “also rans,” Nikki Haley, has proven that she is in line with Trump’s destructive vision for America’s future, and a supporter of white supremacy in America.

At a Town Hall meeting in Berlin, New Hampshire, Haley was asked a simple question: “what was the reason for the Civil War?” The following was her response.

Haley talked about the role of government, replying that it involved “the freedoms of what people could and couldn’t do.”

Not once during a lengthy and meaningless response did she admit that at the core of why our nation’s most bloody war began. She refused to admit that Confederate states fought to preserve their legal right to own other human beings. It was obvious that she was careful not to offend her Neo-Nazi supporters and admit that “slavery” was our country’s greatest sin.

Most Americans are unaware that we are currently engaged in Civil War II. However, it is clear that right-wing extremists are displeased with the direction our country is currently headed. They seek a return to the “bad old days” when racial discrimination was the norm, and women were subservient to men. They preach hatred towards all minorities and all religions other than today’s fake Christianity. They believe that violence is the answer, and therefore align themselves with the most extreme fascist groups in our nation.

Trump and his loyal supporters continue to strengthen today’s Confederates. The first Civil War never ended. They may have lost the war, but their hatred for the America of our Founding Fathers remains.

I have serious doubts that America can ever become a nation without the presence of racism, bigotry, any form of prejudice. Nothing has changed since our nation’s leaders owned slaves in contradiction to the words of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America which proclaimed to be the basic beliefs of the new nation. It is clear today that they were far from infallible. Two of our biggest problems today, the existence of the Electoral College, and a decision not to place term limits on all three branches of government, are the reasons our federal and state governments are filled with corruption and willful incompetence.

At one time the following slogan was part of the right-wing extremist mantra: “America, love it or leave it.” However, it is applicable to today’s fascist men and women who call themselves “Republicans.” They have no love or respect for my America.
