This decision was already decided after the Watergate break-in. Today they delayed the decision for seven more weeks. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart Today, Moscow Mitch McConnell announced that he will step down as the leader of Republicans in the Senate. This is too late. In collusion with the Federalist Society, he maneuvered and stretched the law, allowing three unqualified and biased individuals to become Supreme Court Justices who are appointed for life. This is the single reason why the American government is incompetent, irreparable, and forever corrupt. In October of 2020, I lost all hope for the future of my beloved country. This was the third member of the Court appointed by Trump and his partner in crime, Moscow Mitch, in just four years. The old man of the Senate was fully aware that these two men and one woman were unqualified and loyal to right-wing extremists. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart Moscow Mitch McConnell is stepping down as the Republican leader in the Senate. At the age of 82, this is something he should have done more than a decade ago. He is the creator of the “party of no,” and the reason congress has failed the American people for the last 15 years. It is he who stacked the Supreme Court after creating policies which he threw aside for personal benefit in October of 2020, just days before the general election. I will be very pleased to see him go. His “party first” policy is why our government is dysfunctional today. The people of Kentucky gave us this mess for the last 40 years. Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart I assume that if you support Trump you continue to live in 1950’s America, or you would prefer to. However, the current date shows us that we are nearly one quarter through the 21 st century, and if we haven’t moved on from our nation’s dark, warlike, and prejudiced past, we are doomed and will not survive another 25 years. Case in point: the Second Amendment should be revoked or at the very least rewritten. In its present form it remains ambiguous, and extremely difficult to place in terms which make sense in the 21 st century. What is perfectly clear is nowhere in the short and controversial amendment is there a definition of what type of weapons can be legally possessed by ordinary citizens. For example.   Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart   On Tuesday Michigan held its presidential primaries. As expected, Trump and Biden won their party’s support. However, a surprise “candidate” contributed to the fact that neither man won by the margin expected.   In the Republican Party, Trump received 68.1 percent of the vote, Nikki Haley 26.5   In the Democratic primary, Joe Biden won 81 percent, and Marianne Williams 3 percent.   However, “Uncommitted” captured 3 percent of the Republican vote, and “Uncommitted” won 13.2 percent of the Democratic vote.   Of similar interest is after the South Carolina Republican Party primary, one out of five Republicans said they would not vote for Trump in the General Election.   I have one fear, and it’s serious and could be very destructive for our country’s future.
