The Single Reason Why the American Government Cannot be Repaired

Today, Moscow Mitch McConnell announced that he will step down as the leader of Republicans in the Senate. This is too late. In collusion with the Federalist Society, he maneuvered and stretched the law, allowing three unqualified and biased individuals to become Supreme Court Justices who are appointed for life. This is the single reason why the American government is incompetent, irreparable, and forever corrupt.

In October of 2020, I lost all hope for the future of my beloved country. This was the third member of the Court appointed by Trump and his partner in crime, Moscow Mitch, in just four years. The old man of the Senate was fully aware that these two men and one woman were unqualified and loyal to right-wing extremists. Moscow Mitch accomplished his lifetime goal of overturning every woman’s right to make decisions about her own mental and physical health by overturning Roe v Wade.

If we take an honest look at this American tragedy, the reasons behind this action are founded in connection with two right-wing beliefs.

The first is clear: racism. Most affected by ending Roe v Wade are underprivileged women. This group includes a disproportionately large number of Black and Hispanic women.

Second is a desperate need to retain a specific demographic in every upcoming election: the Christian Religious Right. It is an irrefutable fact that the right-wing’s adamant support for these fake Christian leaders is an attack on the First Amendment rights of most Americans. However, with a dwindling base more evident with every passing year, they need all the votes they can get.

Giving lifetime appointments to Supreme Court Justices appears to be our Founding Father’s biggest mistake. For years I trusted the Court to save our nation’s democracy. However, with a 6-3 majority in favor of right-wing extremism, all three branches of our government have become corrupted. Political power has replaced the Constitution and therefore all hope for our nation’s future.

In just a couple of years, I watched two of the darkest days in America history on television. On January 6, 2021, I watched a sitting, illegitimate president order his Neo-Nazi army to march to the Capitol Building and halt our nation’s most treasured process: our free and fair elections. This was an attempted coup which would have ended our entire system of governance.

Then, on June 24, 2022, a Supreme Court decision which originated 49 years in the past was overturned by a politically biased and prejudicial Court. Women realized once again that for Republicans most women are third-class citizens.

Who will save us? The only weapon we have is our vote, and most Americans learn everything they need to know on television, which means they are ignorant and uninformed.

Educate yourself and become an Independent. Vote for the candidate who is actually closest to your beliefs and principles.
