How Much Longer Will America Have a Postal Service

You might remember the name Louis DeJoy. Thanks to Trump, he is now the Postmaster General of the United States. You might wonder why he is attempting to destroy the institution he was chosen to run.
First of all, he is a Trump supporter, and that means he is not very smart. Secondly, he is a businessman whose major ambition is to run a privatized mail delivery service.
Few of you will be aware of what he is doing to Northern Nevada. He is making a major change which will likely cost Northern Nevada residents their jobs and cause huge delays in our state’s mail delivery.
Although he has received many complaints listing justifiable fears related to eliminating the sorting stations in Reno and placing them in Sacramento, California, he refuses to listen to the people his organization serves.
Sacramento is 136 miles west of Reno. However, the mileage is only one concern. In the winter months, I-80, the highway between the two cities, crosses the Sierra Nevada Mountain range, and is impassable frequently in late fall into the early spring.
DEJOY’S FAILURES ARE MUCH MORE DEVIOUS
Although it has been proven by every state’s election committees that voting by mail is the safest and most secure way to cast your ballots, DeJoy has made efforts to prevent and discredit this right of the American people. The reason is simple: he is indebted to Donald Trump.
DEJOY MUST BE REMOVED

1. Postal Service keeps losing more money.
2. DeJoy’s failed “Delivering for America” plan.
3. Runaway Expenses.
4. DeJoy expanding the unionized workforce.
5. Postal Unions contribute heavily to Democrat candidates.
6. Declining labor productivity.
7. Mail volume is plummeting.
8. Postal Service spending $3 billion in taxpayer money to buy EVs.
9. Failure of new Regional Processing and Distribution Centers.
10. Postal Service is increasingly competing with Private Sector.

ELDERLY CITIZENS DEPEND ON THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE
DeJoy is another appointed official who is ignoring the needs of older Americans. AMERICANS OVER THE AGE OF 60 CONTINUE TO USE THE USPS ON A REGULAR BASIS.
The government of the United States hates older Americans. They ignore us and our needs constantly. Many of us depend on Social Security for most or all of our income. However, our yearly increase fails to consider the 30-40 percent inflation in our grocery stores, or the 50-60 percent increase in utility bills.
Although we paid for Medicare throughout our working years, we are now forced to pay a monthly premium, and a percentage of the overall cost. Every other nation in the world offers free healthcare for the ageing population.
THE USPS MUST BE SAVED
I will not list the many reasons why the USPS must be saved. I ask you to think about it carefully, not considering your reasons exclusively, but thinking about everyone you know: your grandparents, parents, and the thrill of a small child who places his or her letter to Santa Claus in a post office receptacle.
For me and my fellow seniors, some of our fondest memories were delivered by a postal worker.
America’s biggest fault as a nation is we choose to destroy our past because the future offers greater financial success. We no longer believe in reconstruction; we tear everything down or throw it away and buy something new. This is a travesty unique to the United States.
