Matt Gaetz Must Try Harder: If Anyone Can Do it, He Can
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
It’s clear to me one of the worst members of congress, Matt Gaetz, wants to be exactly like his Fuhrer, Donald Trump. He just needs to try harder.
Gaetz remains under investigation for sex with a minor, and sex trafficking across state lines. It appears that he will be facing additional charges soon.
Gaetz: “The House Ethics Committee has closed four probes into me, which emerged from lies intended solely to smear me,” he tweeted. “They are doing this to avoid the obvious fact that every investigation into me ends the same way: my exoneration.”
Of course he is lying. The Ethics Committee has not closed any investigation and is beginning new ones.
WHAT HE ALREADY SHARES WITH TRUMP
Like his master, Gaetz is a sexual predator. He shares another quality with “Big Adolf,” he lies constantly. He is a member in “good standing” of the fascist Freedom Caucus, and hates the country he promised to serve, protect and defend.
He shares a long list of violations with Trump, and is being investigated for his alleged crimes including, “sexual misconduct and/or illicit drug use, shared inappropriate images or videos on the House floor, misused state identification records, converted campaign funds to personal use, and/or accepted a bribe, improper gratuity, or impermissible gift, in violation of House Rules, laws, or other standards of conduct.”
Like his close friend, Marjorie Taylor Greene, he would never have been elected if he did not represent the white supremacist men and women who live in Florida’s first district. Greene represents the racist people of Georgia’s 14th district.
A DYSFUNCTIONAL GOVERNMENT
The government of the United States of America is broken into many small pieces. I seriously doubt that it can ever be repaired.
The most damage has been done to our legislative branch, specifically the House of Representatives. It is in total disarray. Between a few “real” Republicans, members of the TEA Party, the Freedom Caucus, and a small group of moderates, not only do they refuse to work with Democrats, they fight amongst themselves.
A final fact: a Democratic Republic is unable to exist without honest deliberation and compromise.
