Trump is Treated Differently by the Press Because He is “Different”

Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart

It is clear that Trump has been given a free pass, confirming he is above the law, by the Justice Department. Any other man or woman who has committed the most egregious crimes in America would be in a federal prison awaiting trial.

He has also been given a free pass by the mainstream media. He has been allowed to tell outrageous lies, violate the Constitution constantly, continue his vicious and false attacks on real Americans, all without repercussions. If the former fourth estate was not complicit in Trump’s campaign, his poll numbers would be in the minus column.

Not a single accomplishment in his life, no experience in government, including between 2017 and 2021, a lifetime of crime exposed by more than 90 felony indictments, a confirmed and convicted sexual predator, recently convicted of 34 felony charges, the leader of America’s Neo-Nazi movement, these are some of Trump’s qualifications for becoming your president.

The press calls Trump “different.” If “different” means unfit for office at any level, harbors a deep hatred for his country and most of its people, uneducated, illiterate, mentally deficient, physically challenged, and in a tie as the most hated man in the world with Vladimir Putin, then yes, he is “different.”

MY AGE IS OF GREATER VALUE IN 2024

Experience matters. I have been interested in politics since 1956. I have followed 13 presidents. I consider one of them “great.” One is above average. Five were “competent,” a couple more so than the others. I would call three of them “stand-ins.” They were unqualified and did little or nothing for our people. Three are on my list of the worst in history.

The lesson is, presidents come and go. Unfortunately, the really bad ones do harm which requires years to undo, and in some cases the damage is irreparable.

I’m sure you know the single “great President.” He led our nation for only two years and eleven months, but was a perfect example of what an American President should be.

John F. Kennedy was extremely intelligent, an eloquent and articulate orator, a man who loved all of his nation’s people, possessed a positivity which was infectious, displayed great courage in a crisis, and was admired by people around the world.

Sadly, none of the above can be applied to Trump. He will forever be remembered as the worst president in American history.

My standards are high because they should be. I don’t want or expect an “average man” to lead a nation of more than 330 million diverse people. This is a challenge few men or women would want or accept.

I remember an America defined by its compassion, and understanding for those who were different. Different was defined as someone whose skin color may be different than yours, or someone whose traditions and customs were unknown to others, someone who spoke a language you didn’t understand, or in 2024 those whose sexual orientation is difficult for others to understand.

ANOTHER WEEKEND, AND THE SAME OLD TRUMPT

This last weekend, Trump made two appearances: he spoke to the Faith and Freedom Coalition conference at the Washington Hilton on Saturday. The next day, Trump held a sparsely attended rally in Philadelphia, which he described as “one of the most egregious places anywhere in the world.”

At both venues he said things which would completely disqualify a normal candidate. However, Trump is a media favorite and was given that “free pass.”

One instance involved Trump threatening to take off his clothes to show his “beautiful, beautiful body, and the stigmata he received from his “struggle with justice.” HIs girth is big enough for three bodies.

Another comment suggested placing migrants in a physical battle with each other for the amusement of his white power cult.

Finally, there’s the moment where Trump told the Faith and Freedom crowd that they have to get out and vote this time, but in four years … don’t worry about it. "In four years, don't vote. I don't care,” he said. “But we'll have it all straightened out so it'll be much different."

This is Trump doing what he believes is “presidential,” spreading unwarranted anger and hatred, while suggesting violence.

Please vote: WE deserve better.
