What If: How Vladimir Putin’s Agent Attempted to Destroy America

November 8, 2016 should have been a day of celebration for every American. As the polls closed, Hillary Clinton was winning the popular vote. America would have not only its first woman president, it would have chosen the most qualified candidate in history to lead our nation for the next four years.

Of course this did not happen. When the votes were counted in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan a total of less than 80,000 total votes allowed these three states to decide who would be our president. The Electoral College negated the will of the people as it did in 2000..

How did this happen? I and others were confused for weeks. However, although our government denies the facts today, a story was released and then quickly redacted about a meeting held in the Oval Office in October of 2016.

The subject of the meeting was to inform our nation’s leaders about the results of an investigation by all 17 agencies of America’s intelligence community completed on October 7, 2016. President Obama, Vice President Biden, and the leaders of both parties, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Moscow Mitch McConnell, and Paul Ryan were informed that under the orders of Vladimir Putin, Russia was indeed interfering in our election in support of Donald Trump.

What did our leaders do? What they do best; nothing. It was decided that the voting public had no right to know the truth. A few weeks later, on November 8, the election was held without anyone knowing that America was about to elect its first illegitimate president.

Remember those three states? In each of these critical states, the voter turnout was much lower than expected.

THE RESULTS WERE CATASTROPHIC

The least qualified candidate in history would pretend to lead our nation for the next four years. A few political writers, like me, feared the worst, and the worst is what happened to our country. Recently, presidential historians declared Trump the worst president in history; something most of us had already learned.

Today, everyone with the ability think clearly is aware that Trump is a lifetime criminal, a failure at everything he attempted, a sexual predator, a traitor, and the leader of the Neo-Nazi movement in America. His loyalty is to Putin, not to the country he was elected to serve.

WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN

Trump’s actions caused enormous damage to our country, much of it irreparable. If Hillary Clinton would have been involved in a fair election, she would be our President today. Instead of living in a divided nation where groups intent on destroying the nation of our Founding Fathers have a loud voice in Washington, we would be celebrating the accomplishments of President Clinton which would have positively affected all Americans.

Washington would be focused on the important issues facing America, not a guaranteed to fail wall. Universal Healthcare, the protection of voting rights, sensible immigration reform, affordable education for all, domestic terrorism, women’s rights, and the protection of First Amendment rights protected for the LGBTQ community, non-Christians, minorities, and all legal immigrants, would have been addressed by all three branches of our federal government.

The Supreme Court would not have been corrupted, placing the demands of one political party ahead of the Bill of Rights.

ENOUGH “WHAT-IFS”

What is real, is that the United States is f**ked up in 2024. It is a “hot mess.” Most Americans are without representation in Washington. In recent years uninformed voters elected and reelected many of the worst people ever allowed to violate the Capitol Building.

The “Freedom Caucus” continues to hold the House hostage, demanding actions which would move America closer to a fascist state. Moscow Mitch’s “party of no” is the reason the legislative branch is completely dysfunctional. In a “normal” year, congress passes between 200-600 bills into law. In 2023, only 54 bills survived the process. The primary reason: honest deliberation and compromise no longer exist, and a Democratic Republic form of government cannot function under these conditions.

BEGINNING IN 2017, THOSE WHO CALL THEMSELVES “REPUBLICANS” HAVE BECOME THE ENEMY OF ALL REAL AMERICANS

Right-wing politicians have abandoned their oaths of office. They no longer serve our nation’s people, their loyalty is to Trump and his handler, Vladimir Putin. Recently, a number of men and women who call themselves Republicans agreed that if reelected, Trump should become a dictator.

Members of the Freedom Caucus openly support Putin in his invasion of the sovereign country of Ukraine. If you are a patriot, you must be offended to learn that elected officials support our nation’s greatest enemy. During his service to the KGB in the 1980’s and early 1990’s Putin let it be known that his primary goal was the destruction of his enemy, the United States of America. Your former president openly expresses his loyalty to the Russian dictator, and yes, he is a dictator, not a fairly elected president.

It may be foolish, but I continue to dream of a nation which could have been led by a woman whose life is a history of service to her country’s people. My country could have had the services of a brilliant, hard-working woman who would have become a great president.
