100 Percent of the Attendees at the Convention Share One Thing, and 90 Percent Share Something More Interesting

Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart

Every attendee at the former Republican Party’s convention in Milwaukee shares one fact. They are all Neo-Nazis, supportive of a fascist regime to replace democracy, while declaring their fealty to Trump.

I was confused at times. The effusive and embarrassing praise for the convicted felon was so repetitive, I wasn’t sure if this was taking place in America, 1930’s Germany, North Korea, or Moscow. The similarity was uncanny.

They are a united party, at least in public.

HYPOCRITES ONE AND ALL

At least 90 percent of the men and women at the convention were previously vehement critics of the worst illegitimate president in history.

A large number of this 90 percent were members of the “anyone but Trump club” in 2016. All of them called him “dangerous,” “immoral,” “unhinged,” “unfit,” and numerous other negative adjectives. However out of this 90 percent, 100 percent became hypocrites. They scream and yell for Trump while inside they are calling him names and likely a little angry with themselves for supporting the worst man in America. More proof that right-wing politicians will say and do anything to win elections.

TRUMP LOVES THIS CONVENTION OF WHITE PEOPLE: IT’S ALL ABOUT HIM

I know you are aware that I did not watch last night’s freak show. I will not be watching Democrats next month. Today’s conventions are repetitive and boring. I did see some clips. In one of them Trump fell asleep. Well, he is nearly and octogenarian.

The first convention I watches was in 1956. I turned on my black and white television and real Republicans were celebrating the nomination of Dwight D. Eisenhower for a second term. People were excited; President Eisenhower’s first term was successful.

I was excited. I had been learning about WWII, and I knew that Eisenhower had been instrumental in the planning of “D Day.”

This year offers zero reasons for anyone to get excited. 2024 is a rerun of 2020. The 2020 campaign was ugly, and reruns are never as good as the original.

The malignant narcissist at the center of this is having a great time. He is being praised by men and women who are lesser qualified than he to lead our country. What does that say about the entire Republican Party in name only?
