The New York Times Finally Listened to Me
Op-ed by TheWiseOldFart
I will brag about myself when I think I deserve it. Since
2012, when I began writing professionally, I have written a few stories weeks,
months, and even years before the mainstream media releases a similar story
about the same subject. Yesterday, July 11, 2024, this happened again.
I cannot tell you when I wrote my articles, but it was
several years ago. Today the headline on the New York Times read: “Unfit to
Lead.”
The article lambastes Trump for many of his failures in a
five-part piece authored by their editorial board. In its beginning, it labels
Trump accurately as “unfit to lead,” and suggests that the American people vote
for ‘anyone but Trump.’ The same statements I have made for years.
The five parts will discuss how Trump fares in five
categories: moral fitness, principled leadership, character, “a president’s
words” and the rule of law.
TRUMP RECEIVES A FAILING GRADE IN EVERY CATEGORY
I can sum up in a few words how the orange buffoon fails
miserably in each category.
First, Trump has no morals. Trump says and does whatever
pleases him regardless of the consequences, and without any basis in reality. He
is aware that the majority of the mainstream media will give him a “free pass.”
Trump also lacks principles, and as for leadership, he
failed the biggest test of his miserable life when in December of 2019 he ignored
the Presidents Daily Brief. He never chose to read this important material, but
one of his aides informed him that there was a confirmed danger that a deadly
pandemic could reach the United States in just a few months. He ignored the
information, and when Covid-19 began to spread from Asia to Europe and the
death toll began to rise, he told the American people: “We are more prepared
than other countries and it will just go away.” I paraphrase. In March of 2020,
Americans began to die, and Trump scrambled for ways to defend his failure.
America needs great leaders in times of crises. Trump
received a generous “F.”
Character is defined as: “the mental and moral qualities
distinctive to an individual.” Recently, Trump admitted that when he became our
nation’s illegitimate president in 2016, he had no idea what “NATO” was. The truth
is, Donald Trump knows nothing about anything, and remains inexperienced and
unfit for any office. His felony convictions and a conviction related to his immoral
sexual dalliances and a philanderer, prove he has no morals.
The words of all men and women affect others. However the
words of a president must relate to every man, woman, and child under his or
her care. Trump’s speeches are composed of anger, hatred, revenge, self-pity,
and are intended to incite violence in his name. His subject is always negative.
Not once has he praised others, or suggested that he would improve the lives of
the men and women who elected him. It’s all about him
We could talk about Trump’s relationship to the rule of law
for days. Not only has Trump always believed that wealth and power placed him
above the law, Moscow Mitch McConnell and today’s corrupt Supreme Court have
proven him right. Two impeachments, but not a single fair trial in the senate,
and a recent confirmation by six corrupted Supreme Court justices that he has
absolute immunity empowered the court jester. He will only become bolder. And more
intent on punishing his enemies.
Those of us who have studied Trump’s life know facts
unreported by the media. Trump’s life of crime began immediately after he left
Wharton. Working in his father’s hotel business, he violated the civil rights
of dozens of Black men and women. When applying for a lease, he and other
leasing agents placed a large, red “C” at the top of the first page. The “C”
was for “colored,” eliminating them from consideration.
In his business life he bribed officials, falsified legal
documents, refused to pay for services rendered, laundered money for Russian
oligarchs, and accepted financial assistance from the Saudi Royal family. His
recent felony convictions on 34 counts was no surprise. In fact, Trump is culpable
for every crime for which he has been indicted.
WORDS ARE HOLLOW
Facts talk and bullshit walks. Trump’s lies are only
believed by those who choose to be lied to. By his own actions he proves that his
ambitions are the same as his idols: Adolf Hitler, Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong-un,
Viktor Orban, Rodrigo Duterte, and Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Trump is not only unfit to lead this country, he is unfit to
claim the label of “American.”
