How the GOP Continues to Reject Anything Which Would Improve the Quality of Life for Most Americans

The question I have asked for more than ten years is clear
and simple: why would any working-class man or woman vote for a Republican? The
records show that these Republicans in name only continue to vote against every
measure which would improve the quality of life for most Americans.
What these fake Republicans oppose: universal healthcare:
free or affordable education for all: sensible immigration reform: fair
taxation: protecting the right to vote: a woman’s right to make decisions about
her own mental and physical health: freedom of and freedom from religion: and
preserving the right of same-sex marriage.
CHANGE CAME WITH RONALD REAGAN AND IT WASN’T GOOD
The disaster which was Donald Trump, 2017-2021, began in
1981. I, and millions of other voters were lied to by Ronald Reagan during the
1980 campaign. The man I believed he was never took residence in the White
House. His policies reshaped the entire Republican Party.
He began by declaring war on the working class. In August of
1981, Reagan fired all 11,000 striking air traffic controllers. To add to his
prejudice against working men and women, he established a fiscal policy of “trickle-down
economics,” which simply meant, “give more money to the rich, and they will
take care of America’s workers.” Great idea, Ronnie!
He soon added wars on minorities, and women.
The most significant change demanded by Reagan was absolute
loyalty. There was to be no dissention among Republicans. Unquestioned support
for Reagan’s policies was required. Little did any of us realize that this one
demand eliminated all free thought from Republicans and began the demise of the
once Grand Old Party. By 2010 extremists invaded the Party of Lincoln calling
themselves the TEA Party, and later they were followed by a group in the House
calling themselves “the Freedom Caucus.” They remain so far to the right their
beliefs are pure fascism.
WITH TRUMP’S ILLEGITIMATE ELECTION IN 2017, THE FINAL
IMPLOSION OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY QUICKLY FOLLOWED
In 2017, the entire right side of the aisle in Washington
abandoned the principles of real Republicans and pledged their fealty to Trump
and their super-rich owners. Not a single man or woman calling themselves
Republicans represents the majority today. They vote as instructed by lobbyists
working for large corporations and the wealthiest men and women in America.
They never vote for you or me.
The most upsetting change on the right is their complete
abandonment of morals and family values. They support a man who has been
married three times, and had extramarital relationships with other women while
married. He is a self-admitted sexual predator, who was accused by at least one
12-year-old girl of rape during one of his close friend’s parties. That man was
Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump continues to show no interest in the well-being of any
other person in the world.
One final fact: if you vote for anyone with an “R” next to
his or her name, you are throwing your precious vote away. They will never keep
the promises they make during campaigns. Right wing politicians can only
survive in an atmosphere of lies and conspiracy theories.
