Ms. Harris, Don’t Talk to the Media: The Press is no Longer Trustworthy or Respected

I am attaching an article with the headline, “Kamala Harris Must Talk to the Press.” By Margaret Sullivan

The very meaning of the title is bullshit. There is no reason for the Vice-President to sit down for interviews with the mainstream media. Her message is for the people: the men and women who will choose her as our first woman president.

THE FINAL DESTRUCTON OF THE FOURTH ESTATE

Beginning in 2015, the once respected Fourth Estate committed suicide. When Trump declared his candidacy in June of 2015, all media, legitimate or fake, began covering Trump ad nauseum. As the campaign proceeded, it was revealed that he received five times more media coverage than all other candidates combined, including Hillary Clinton. They all capitulated to the idea that sensationalism increases viewership, and increased viewership creates greater advertising revenue.

It was of no importance that everything Trump said was a lie, not once were the important issues facing our nation addressed or did he offer an intelligent solution. He was a caricature of a presidential candidate. He was given a free pass by the media. Only on rare occasions did he act “presidential,” he was nothing but an orange buffoon.

Trump was given the Electoral College vote by three states: Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The total number of votes was less than 80,000. The result of the election can be blamed on three distinct entities: the media, James Comey, and most significantly Vladimir Putin, He concentrated his efforts of those three states with negative and vicious assaults against Hillary Clinton on Social Media. The voter turnout was far lower than expected.

A BIASED MEDIA ELIMINATES THE REALITY OF A FREE PRESS

Kamala Harris can only be harmed by the media. They have failed to fairly inform the American public over the last two elections about what was actually happening during the campaign season.

It appears that she is running away with this election. She has the support of the people, and has no need to establish a relationship with the media. They need her for ratings; she does not need them.

The media has a single right; to know what the government is doing and report it honestly and without offering their opinions to the public. This no longer happens.

Most of you know that I have not watched television “news” since the morning of November 9, 2016. I watched interview after interview of Trump and his paid liars. I cringed as newspersons refused to force Trump and his team to answer direct questions. They were allowed to make campaign speeches while ignoring their interviewers. This pissed me off more every day during the 2016 campaign season.

If I was Kamala Harris or Tim Walz, I would avoid the press. Let them continue to focus on Trump, but this time on his lies, and failing mental faculties.
