In Washington, “Doing the Right Thing” is Extremely Rare
All Politicians are cowards, regardless of their party
affiliation. They are more afraid of what might happen if they did the right
thing than violating their oaths of office. Losing an election would force them
to find a real job. Their license to steal from the American people would be
revoked. Not a single professional politician spends more than 100 days each
year working for the people. Most of their time is spent fund raising and lying
to their constituents.
Since Trump was gifted the Electoral College in 2016, the
government of the United States has become the most corrupt and most
incompetent in the world. Fewer bills have become law over the last nine years
than during any other period in American history.
Our Founding Fathers were “eternal optimists.” They were naïve
and believed that their successors would possess the morals, principles, and integrity
to improve upon their humble beginnings in 1789. However, they underestimated
the frailty of humanity. The desires for great wealth and power far surpass the
desires of most women and men to do the right thing and serve the needs and
wishes of our nation’s people.
There are two political parties in America. One party calls
themselves Democrats and the other Republicans. However, the truth is
undeniable that since 2017 the once Grand Old Party surrendered to Trump and
Vladimir Putin, and is now the American Fascist Party.
Democrats are no better. Over the last 79 years, they have
become cowards who fear losing power in Washington and continue to move farther
to the right, abandoning the ideals of the only “people’s president” in
history, Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
It is clear that I must remind you that all 546 men and
women who are intended to serve our nation’s people are nothing more than
public servants. Not one of them is of greater importance than a janitor who
labors in the Capitol Building. Nine Supreme Court Justices are appointed by
the president. The executive branch includes the President and Vice-President.
The House of Representatives is composed of 435 individuals. The Senate
consists of 100 men and women. These are the few who control your future, and
the future of those you love.
99.99 percent of these men and women have no interest in
doing the right thing all of the time. Their focus is on their personal future.
I doubt that you want to believe the truth. The truth will
destroy everything you believed about your country. However, the facts are
undeniable. Corruption has become the norm in Washington. Both parties share a
common vow: to protect each other from the truth. The phrase most commonly used
among them is “for reasons of national security.” The truth is, every time a
politician uses this slogan, they are hiding some form of corruption by one of
their own.
We, the people, are the United States of America. We have a
right to know everything which happens in Washington without exception. The once
“fourth estate” was offered protection under the First Amendment by our elected
officials. However, it no longer exists.
Recently I applauded President Biden for pardoning his son,
Hunter. For decades those who call themselves “Republicans” have committed
thousands of crimes, big and small, and no one has denounced them for their hypocrisy.
Remember, Trump awarded the “Medal of Freedom” to one of our nation’s greatest dividers:
Rush Limbaugh.
When Biden broke his promise with a pardon for his son, I
cheered. However, many cowardly Democrats denounced the President’s decision. They
remain cowards.
One man, the last president before Biden who accomplished
many great things for our nation’s people, supported his decision, I realized a
few real Americans do have courage to do the right thing.
Our 42nd President, Bill Clinton, offered his
opinion.
“I personally believe that the president is almost certainly
right that his son received completely different treatment than he would have
if he hadn’t been the president’s son, in this kind of case,” the former
president said onstage Wednesday at the 2024 DealBook Summit.
One Democrat had the courage to stand with one of our nation’s
best presidents in modern history.
Think what you will, but the facts are clear: no one can be
trusted in Washington, but some are worse than others. I would list their
names, but if you are an informed American, you already know them.
