Nothing Proves my Claim that America’s Government is the Most Corrupt and Incompetent in the World than the Debt Ceiling
America is a strange country. It claims many “firsts,” and all of them are moronic and destructive. Corporate profits are of far greater importance than the quality of life for more than 340 million people. Most legislation which would improve the lives of the majority are never addressed and never come to the floor for a vote.
I continue to claim that the federal government of the
United States is the mot corrupt and incompetent in the world. I can prove my
allegations easily and simply.
I begin with the Electoral College. No nation in the world
allows states to choose their president, or leader by another name, than
America. In every other developed nation, the people choose the woman or man
who will lead them.
Because the Electoral College exists, we have “red and blue
states,” which divide our nation and remove credibility from the election
process.
America is also unique in the fact that it is the only
nation in the world not to have universal healthcare. Only in America is the
highest quality of healthcare reserved for the wealthy.
America is at the bottom of the list in education. Each year
some of our most intelligent young men and women are lost forever simply
because higher education is unaffordable for most of our country’s people.
Only in America are women, minorities, the LGBTQ community,
and non-Christians considered second and even third-class citizens.
Only in America are the elderly ignored, struggling to
survive in their last years. Their working years behind them, they have little
or no value in our nation’s society.
One singularity, far more ludicrous than all others, is what
is known as “the debt ceiling.”
As it is with all other nations, a budget must be approved
by the legislative body permitting our government to operate for the next year
or years. However, our incompetent congress added a stipulation to the budget.
How the funding is spent includes multiple contested areas on both sides of the
aisle. Included in this battle is how far government will be allowed to exceed
the annual budget to accomplish what is necessary for our nation to exist. This
does not exist in any other nation.
Each year heated discussions accomplish nothing, and each
year there is a threat to shut down the government if an agreement cannot be
reached. And each year temporary agreements are reached, and the shutdown
delayed. However, the threat remains.
It is important to note here that the salaries of the
President, Vice-President, their upper-level staffs, the salaries of all 100
Senators and 435 members of the House, and the Supreme Court are not affected
by a government shutdown. Most of the men and women who suffer from a shutdown
are members of the working class.
Even more ridiculous is a rule which forces certain employees
in “essential areas” to perform their jobs without pay, including
Transportation Security Agents who protect domestic air travel across America.
This situation is stupidity at its apex.
The ineffectiveness of our government resulted in the fewest
number of bills passed into law in history over the last eight years. This
situation began when Moscow Mitch McConnell was the Senate Majority Leader
during the Trump administration. When he was deposed, a stack of necessary
bills remained on his desk, gathering dust. They were never brought to the
floor for a vote. The bills contained changes in many areas, including care and
support for veterans returning from war zones, and funding for protection in
future elections which would have prevented the type of intervention which
occurred in 2016.
However, Vladimir Putin and his agents continued to alter
the results of the 2024 election in support of Donald Trump. It is highly
likely that both of Trump’s elections were illegitimate: bought and paid for by
Russia. It is an irrefutable fact that the repeal of the Electoral College and
forcing term limits on all three branches of our government would end the
dysfunction in Washington. There are no viable alternative solutions.
