Four Years Ago Today, I Watched the Darkest Day in American History
My wife
and I were watching television when the broadcast was interrupted. The date was
January 6, 2021. It was just about noon.
On the
screen was an old, obese, white man who was soon to be evicted from the White
House. He was standing on a newly erected stage just outside the White House.
He began
his lies with the biggest lie he ever told. He claimed that massive fraud
prevented him from winning his reelection in 2020. The truth was clear and
irrefutable. After more than 60 state’s courts denied his appeals, unable to
find a shred of evidence, and after the Supreme Court, which had been stacked
by Trump and fellow conspirator, Moscow Mitch McConnell, rejected his final
appeal, he refused to accept his massive defeat.
Congress
was in session, preparing to certify the Electoral College vote and confirming
Joe Biden’s presidency. It was confirmed later by a member of Trump’s
administration, that he knew he had lost just days after the election. Afflicted
with malignant narcissism, his ego would not accept defeat. Therefore he
created his biggest lie.
Next came
the unbelievable. Donald John Trump completed his treasonous plans and ordered
his Neo-Nazi army to march to the Capitol Building and force a halt to one of
our nation’s most sacred, democratic processes.
My wife
and I watched Trump march back into the White House as his army of seditionists
obeyed his command.
We
cringed as windows and doors were broken and the mob attacked the Capitol
police, rummaged through the building, stealing items from multiple rooms, and defecating
on the floors and furniture in numerous offices.
They
began searching for Vice-President Mike Pence and Speaker of the House Nancy
Pelosi, planning to physically attack them and possibly take from them their lives.
In any
other nation in the world Trump would have been taken from the White House and
placed in a holding cell while charges of treason were being prepared.
However,
the United States has become the most corrupt in all the world. Our judicial
system is biased. The rich and powerful have never once been fairly prosecuted
for their crimes.
Although
he had clearly violated the 14th Amendment, he was allowed to seek
the presidency in 2024. The remainder of this sad story is that my country will
have an illegitimate president who is a convicted felon, a confirmed sexual
predator, a man loyal to our greatest enemy, Vladimir Putin, not to his
country, is a traitor, and a man who violated the Espionage Act.
What a
country.
Today, January
6, 2025, Congress will once again certify the Electoral College Vote. I hope
there are protests, and that they will be peaceful in nature.
Trump
never was and never will be my president.
Anyone
who watched the darkest day in American history, all three hours, witnessed an
attempted coup. However, our dysfunctional government and the mainstream media continue
to ignore the seriousness of what Trump attempted on that day. He planned,
organized, and executed an effort to overthrow the government of the United
States.
Some
would say that December 7, 1941 and September 11, 2001 were worse than January 6. I would disagree.
They were
great tragedies and must never be forgotten. However, they were committed by enemies
outside of our nation. January 6 was a crime committed by a sitting president
who continues to violate the Constitution and has plans to destroy democracy in
America forever. Trump and Putin have been planning the end of America since
2013. I have no doubt they will succeed. Most of our nation’s people have no
concern about the end of human rights and a democratic government which guarantees
those rights. They are willing to become slaves to a fascist government and bow
to their Fuhrer.
By the
way: this insurrection, and attack on our government was on television. Why did
our military do nothing when our entire government was under attack? This adds
to a long list of facts that our current military is incompetent and
overpriced.
