One Thing Our Government Will Never Do
Everyone who claims to “work” in Washington is useless,
corrupt, and a waste of taxpayer money. However, there is a single thing we can
always count on from these cowards: they will never “do the right thing.”
Let me use two examples of how I learned that the government
of the United States of America would be overpaid if they worked for nothing.
One month before the 2016 election, a meeting was held in
the White House. The meeting came at the request of the leaders of all 18
security agencies. In attendance were President Obama, Vice-President Biden,
Moscow Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Chuck Schumer, and Nancy Pelosi.
The purpose of the meeting was to confirm the fact to our
nation’s leaders that Vladimir Putin was interfering in our upcoming election
in support of Donald Trump. However, our gutless leaders decided that the
voting public had no right to learn the truth. The result was Trump becoming
our 45th and illegitimate president. Our government has ignored the
fact that they are nothing more than public servants, and that this is our country,
not theirs.
The second story begins on January 6, 2021.
My wife and I, both retired, were watching television.
Whatever we were watching, the broadcast was interrupted by the news. Just minutes
later, Trump stepped onto a makeshift stage just outside of the White House. He
began by repeating his “big lie,” claiming that he had won the recent 2020
election. Then we heard him tell his gang of Neo-Nazi supporters to march to
the Capitol Building and stop the certification of the Electoral College vote ‘by
any means.’ We later learned that this attempted coup had been planned over several
weeks in meetings held at the Willard Hotel.
These traitors followed the orders of their Fuhrer and for
the next three hours they physically assaulted the Capitol Police, and
committed acts of violence and vandalism, as they searched for Mike Pence and
Nancy Pelosi, intending to murder them by hanging.
When the darkest day in our nation’s history came to an end,
nothing happened.
Although Trump had committed the most egregious act of
treason in our nation’s history, he was allowed to remain in the White House
until his eviction on January 20, 2021.
During the 2024 campaign season, several states threatened
to remove Trump’s name from their ballots. Their reasons were found in Section
three of the 14th Amendment.
[No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress,
or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or
military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously
taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States,
or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer
of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have
engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort
to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House,
remove such disability.]
However, a stacked and corrupt Supreme Court declared that
this did not apply to Trump. The rest is history.
I am proud that I seldom trusted our government. Power
corrupts, and without term limits, the old, white men like Moscow Mitch
McConnel and Chuck Grassley have amassed power which allows them to pass
legislation for their personal benefit, not for the people.
I thought that the Supreme Court would always protect our
democracy. Their only purpose is to protect the Constitution. However, six of
the nine members today are biased in support of right-wing extremism. Without a
fair and non-political Court, hope for America’s future is fading away.
When any government ignores their responsibility to do the
right thing, regardless of political repercussions, that nation will soon be
nothing but a memory.
With a wannabe Fuhrer, who was given complete immunity for
his crimes by the Court, in control of our future, all hope is lost.
